question? is the jupiter fl. perfect game worth the time and expense for a boy who is a jr. in high school or is it more suited for seniors only.

PG is actually "recommending" that teams be limited to '08 players this year.
But I can assure you there are excellent opporunities for 2009 players, if you can compete at that level and you can find a team that is in and that will let you play.
If your kid has ability...it's the best event of the year as far as I'm concerned. The most talent on baseball fields I've ever seen and the visibility is second to none. I'd recommend finding an established team to play on if you can but if not, I know in the past PG has had teams that individuals could sign up and play on. I do believe they screen registrations to make sure your kid can compete at this level but if you can go, GO! Good Luck !

We do prefer 08s, but there will be many of the top 09s there. Not to sound uppity, but we would much rather have a top 09 prospect than an 08 who has trouble competing.
So would the scouts and colleges.

But you're not disputing my comment are you? I wasn't telling the stud '09 players to stay home. I didn't think I needed to add the disclaimer, "go only if you can play".
I assumed that the 08's that go are legitimate......while understanding that this isn't always the case. Let me rephrase --- if you're a strong '09 and you can go with a good team that is primarily '08 -- the exposure is great.

I told PGStaff last Friday that my biggest mistake in "advising" my son (class of 2007) through the recruiting process was not getting him to a Perfect Game event as early as I could. I am a big believer in what these folks do. They are sincere in their desire to help your son find a baseball home.
