Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement.
I am so happy that Bob has decided that this community should continue in the same place, with the same name, same people, same purpose and vision. When Bob told me that I would get the privilege of taking over management of the site, I was excited, but a little scared, too! I couldn't imagine trying to keep tabs on all of the activity around here and monitor all of the posts, without the help of the great moderators who have been watching over the site for several years. I plan to touch base with all of the moderators within the next week or so, and I hope you will all be willing to continue in your roles.
As I mentioned in our chat last night, my goal is to try to keep things very much the same as they are today. My hope is that long time members will watch the site over the coming months and not notice anything different. And I hope that new members or visitors will find the site and see that it is a community "by the people, for the people" - or maybe I should say, "by the parents, for the players".
This will always remain "the house that Bob built", and I hope that he has a little more time to post now that he won't need to worry about admin duties. Personally, I would love to hear more about his part-time scouting duties, and he'd better keep us up to date on the pro baseball career of his fine son! I do know that he has offered to help me with any questions or dilemmas that might come up, and I have his home phone number, so I feel a little more secure!
So, I wanted to say Thanks, Bob, for everything you've done for all of us, and thank you for trusting me with this responsibility. I hope I don't let you down!
P.S. Bob, didn't LeftyDad promise to put you in his will if you arranged for the site to continue here?
