My understanding is that there are a couple of exceptions to this - neither of which is likely to apply in this case but that I thought belonged in this thread.

1) If you enroll for your first semester at less than full time, the NCAA clock does not start ticking on the 5 years to play 4 until you do switch to full time. Of course you are not eligible either Smile

2) If you are playing at the d3 level instead of having 5 years to play 4, you have 10 full time semesters to play 4. So if you take off some time in the middle of your college experience, the clock stops ticking.

CPLZ,

You sound pretty confident on your answer for the eligibility of NCAA. What do you know about NJCAA.

Player starts JC is hurt, gets medical waiver, cannot play the next season due to injury. Meanwhile earns credits part time in Juco but not enough to graduate/get AA

What is his eligibility for JC? for NCAA?
Superball,
To clarify the answer, at DIII you have 10 semesters to compete during 8 semesters. A semester of competition is if you practice or play after the 1st competition date. For instance, in the fall if the school plays their alloud 1 competition date, then if you practice afterwards or play in that game you have used 2 semester. If your school doesn't play a date in the fall, then technically you don't use both semesters until after a game in the spring begins.
