Well today was my first day in Arizona, it was an off day so i hung out with one of the guys and we went to the mall in Scottsdale. we were goin around lookin at stuff. Well Whittleman decided to get his girl a purse. And this is where the name of this discussion comes in.(We're dressed in like workout clothes, because we were lounging around all day, so no one would suspect we had any money and we were basically ignored in all the stores.) He goes to get the purse its like $175 or somethin, and its little wallet thing that goes with it, which is like $70. Well he gets up there, and the lady goes " you do know how much this costs right?" and he says " yes i know" then shes like " are you sure you wanna spend money on this, you might could use it better on something else" Well you should have seen the look on her face when he pulled about $500 in cash out of his pocket and said " yes i'll take it" she was like " well what do you boys do for work?" and we said we were ballplayers, and she says " well, you sure dont dress like ballplayers, figured you would dress a lot nicer" Right around this time, a group of about 10 girls came around and started asking us about baseball and such, the same girls who had not paid us any attention earlier in the day. We were then followed for awhile inside the mall by the girls. The attention was cool, but we knew they were only after money. so this is where i learned my first off the field lesson.
** Dress down and you attract less attention from groupies.
