I thank Ken Burns for introducing me (and most of america) to Buck O'Neil

I just loved the way he spoke about the game!

In with Buck, out with Barry. Why MLB won't right that historical wrong, denying O'Neill a spot in the Hall, is beyond me.

I also read the book - and could not put it down - a great read....

Amen to Cong's thanks to Burns; Buck O'Neil vaulted to the top of my "one of the neatest people I never met" list. I bought two of his autographed baseball cards, one to leave each of my sons. I was truly saddened by his death.

If Buck O'Neil doesn't get in the Hall of Fame, it should be re-named the "Hall of Shame" until he does. He did more for the game with his kindly demeanor while telling about times that had to be painful, with no bitterness, just a clear, deep, and abiding love for the game.

What an absolutely classy gentleman. The world is a lesser place for his absence.

I just finished the book on Sunday. One of the best baseball books ever.

Very kind man. He loved baseball. I wish he was named to the hall of fame while he was alive.
