Rocky Yasutake is a 2024 LHP/RHP/OF/IF/C/1B/bat boy with a 3’2” 47lb frame from Cedar Rapids IA. He attends Duck Duck Goose preschool. He gives great hugs! Good sized frame (for a 3YO), thin lanky build, good arm strength, smooth actions, aggressive hitter, short compact swing, polished approach, present gap pop, ball jumps. Solid stroke, showed juice, hard game contact, strong hands, ball comes off barrel well when centered. Showed bat speed, solid strokes, bat projects, good line drive plane. He WILL be a good student when he enrolls in school (according to his Mom) Highest level follow according to Dad!
How cute!

I do believe I was the first HS Baseball Web member (other than Perfect Game folks) to spot this young phenom named Rocky.

In Spring of 2006, my son was pitching for his college team in Cedar Rapids. Jerry (PGStaff) and his lovely wife Betty were kind enough to stop by the game. And a while later, Kentaro dropped by with his wife and new baby. Jerry, do you remember how old Rocky was ... just a few weeks?

I could tell even then that this youngster had a future in baseball. Wink Big Grin

Seriously, Rocky's dad Kentaro is one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, and from what I have heard, one of the most knowledgeable baseball guys around. I predict a huge career for Rocky, and lots of proud smiles for his dad!
