I am the high school coach at a small K-12 school in East TN. I am trying to put together a baseball camp during our spring break. I am looking for ideas about drills, games, and any other thoughts that might help. Keep in mind that this will be a youth camp for grades 4-8. Thanks in advance.

Bust your camp into stations. You could have a hitting, pitching, infield, outfield, and sliding station. Have your players help you, in uniform, because that will make it more official and the young kids will like that. Make sure each kid gets a t-shirt and maybe have local people donate hamburgers and hot dogs. If you do not mind me asking, how much are you charging?
We always end with the kids hitting water balloons; pitched by the HS guys. The little kids love this. your fingers will be sore from tieing a hundred water balloons but the kids think it's a blast

I have used the "buddy" system sometimes when I have a camp for little guys (I'm at a K-12 school too so it's not too difficult to put together). The little guys like this, they move around from Stations with their big guy. We call it "I can't Wait to be a Trojan" camp.

Some of their favorite activities are sliding and 'pickles' so you can get some teaching in and they have a lot of fun. of course they are all going to want to pitch too and the hitting can be crazy. if you set up any soft toss or tee drills you have to be really safety conscious because you will have kids who throw the bat or cannot hit a net with a hit ball

if you have a radar gun you can have some fun with it too

we have also done egg tosses for contests and of course skills contests with a baseball too; skill contests of all types are cool and you can have prizes...

we've had contest winners throw out the first pitch at HS games (our field is right out near the elem. playground so it's very do-able)

for the 7-8 graders you will want things more skill based and for the 4-6 grades the game's based activities work pretty well and you can still incorporate teaching skills

good luck and have fun
