Never take over a team of kids that you didn't select in tryouts! After two years of dealing with P.I.T.A parents that I didn't select their kid anyway I have decided to hang up my proverbial whistle and stand back and let someone else do it.

I love the kids and I love the game but the parents ruin it. Granted I have a lot of responsibility in my real job and the mounting burdens of coaching were getting overwhelming anyway but the parents put me over the edge.

Looking very forward to just spending my time watching my son on the field and helping him off the field instead of putting up with the ungrateful parents that think their kid is the next Jeter!

Saw this happen to my sons first 12U TB coach. The kids absolutely loved this guy, former D1, currently HS Varsity assistant just decided to stop coaching the team. Had an opportunity to stop and say goodbye and tell him what a great job he had done. I also asked why he decided to leave, thought maybe it was the time commitment. He told me that he was getting 2 to 3 calls per week and countless text messages from a handful of parents about their sons playing times, where they played on the field and where they hit in the order and that he had had enough. I told him sorry but I did not blame him for leaving.
