In front of a sold-out 9,065 fans, Zach Duke made his longest spring outing his best one thus far. He allowed just one hit in 3 2/3 innings, an Eric Bruntlett grounder into right field to open his fourth and final inning of the day. He struck out two, walked one.
"Felt really good," said Duke, whose 1.86 ERA ranks on the team behind only fellow starters Paul Maholm's 1.00 and Ross Ohlendorf's 1.69. "I feel more comfortable and more confident than I have in a long time."
Good News for Zach, OPP and all of us Pirate faithful.....
