Is it at all possible this guy is the parent of the backup player to the real kid and he's trying to blow his chances? a-la Texas cheer mom style?
Well I have seen how martial arts can benefit a baseball player. However reading this thread is kind of scary.
I will also remember you in the future! You guy's are too funny!
This thread reminded me of a very freaky song/video, For Your Entertainment by Adam Lambert. Freaky and For Your Entertianment absolutely fit one poster's rantings.
I just read this thread today as I wasn't part of the board when it first opened up. For awhile I thought he was just screwing with you all then it seemed like he was for real and just didn't have a grasp on what was appropriate to post and what the board was for. Now I think he's screwing with everyone again - is it possible it's just someone trying to screw with the kid by posting all this crazy stuff?

Sadly, no....
It's not hard to figure out who is kid is or where he plays. Then, he's posted enough idiocy on other forums (funniest is where one showcase firm posted highlighted players from their event and this guy was kind enough to post a response of what his kid had done at an entirely different event from another showcase organization. Ironically, that organization has his highest velo ever with them at 6 miles slower than Dad touts). There is also video of the kid with Dad as the camera man. As you hear his unfiltered commentary, it's clear that this isn't a troll or jokester trying to get a rise.
This guy believes everything he says.
On his Facebook page his son lost a well pitched game. Dad blamed it on errors by the two middle infielders. Everyone knows the kid pitched a good game. The middle infielders and everyone else knows they screwed up. But wonderful dad wants to make sure everyone knows it's the other kid's fault his son was the losing pitcher.
This is the kind of stuff that scares away coaches. They don't want to deal with this kind of parent. They are reluctant to take a kid who has been raised on this kind of finger pointing. It's bad for team chemistry.

I wish this were true. There are many here who have been down the path at every level and have tried to give you good advice but you have chosen to completely ignore all of it. As talented as your son may be, you are putting up several unnecessary road blocks for him. Hopefully, for his sake, he can still overcome.

Classic case of grownups screwing things up for the kids.
A couple weeks ago my kid's team lost an important league game. Starting pitcher threw a gem, and would have gotten the W but for 1B blowing a routine 3-6-3 double play in the bottom of the 7th with a bad throw.
Next night I see both kids, along with a few others, hanging out at the movies.
Kids know how to deal with stuff. Some parents do not.

As parents we have a tendency to see something we know isn't right and get upset. My son taught me a valuable lesson one day. I commented on something I saw. He snapped back, "Get over it. I have." From that day forward I watched to see how he handled situations before commenting, if at all.

Similar thing with my kid. Dealing with some stuff this year around playing time and coaches preference when it comes to Sr's. Kid looks at me at one point and says, "Im over it, now its just bugging you and mom". Lesson learned.
There are exceptions. Right now I'm feeling more than a little perturbed about a very late takeout slide at 2b my son was victim to on Friday in a meaningless game. My son's reaction was very mature - said he thought the play was dirty but his main thought that he is going into postseason, while the offending kid just played probably his last organized baseball game ever. But the play had the potential to cause serious injury and I believe that the opposing coach teaches his players that way, and I do plan to discuss the issue with him very soon.
Children taught intimidation tactics in sports unfortunately is part of the game! As a parent, you can speak with the coach but usually it's the opposing team that has committed the infraction and we are not allowed to create a situation after the fact.
Bilal K. Almutasim posted:rynoattack posted:Also, as many have mentioned, try to be humble. It is hard at times, and most do want to brag about their kid. I know that I do. I find it amazing that you talk so much about martial arts, but you seem to act opposite of how martial arts are taught. You should try to study the arts more, and maybe you will be able to be humble Grasshopper...
Rynofucious say, "you should follow the advice of wise Ryno! Be humble grasshopper." LOL! I crack myself up!

What??? That makes absolutely no sense...

Bilal was responding to JCG's post on the take out slide of his son. His phrasing is different, but his response is correct. I disagree with the part about talking to the coach, but some kids are taught to take out the player at second. And no reason to confront the opposing team/coach after the game. That's would be creating a situation.
Bilal's reply to that was probably his most sensible post on this site. That said, I have known the opposing coach off the field for years and I feel completely justified in telling him I don't appreciate dirty plays directed at my son or any other players.

Nice! Hey that reminds me! I don't think anybody has posted the BRILLIANT "The Natural" / Bartolo Colon Home Run Mashup. It was the best thing on the internet last week.
PGstaff, ask Dave Rozema how martial arts can aid you. Well, as long as you don't try to roundhouse kick someone in a baseball fight.

Martial Arts & Baseball? Ask Jose Bautista ... Baseball player's are Alpha males, full of muscle and bravado, But they cannot fight other than throwing one punch with no footwork, technique or leverage! In H.S. no one messes with the karate kid period! Especially if he weighs 225 lbs.
