Re: Middle Infield side-fielding technique
I stated facts and you took it personal. I'm sorry that you did. You and your org. do a fine job of bringing kids together to evaluate them. Not my beef at all! You even make some good comments about the game and your knowledge is good. But do you have to say how many kids were drafted that were PG kids? Does it matter? PG is not the reason they were drafted. That credit should go to the kid and his parents and all his coaches even the HS coaches that everyone seems to put down alot of...

Re: Interpretation Please
College Coaches: Both, depending on need and ability/time to develop. MLB: Projectability.....if the kid is not so projectable then he may be an organizational player (i.e. SR draft) to help fill rosters and aid in the ability to develop prospects within the organization. Which certainly does not mean that ORG players cannot become prospects....

Miller actually pitched once already for the Tigers and had a shut out inning. Can't remember who it was against... will have to go look! I was more than impressed by this young man during the CWS. I think Detroit has a great one and I don't see them pushing him! He's too valuable to their org to mess around with! He'll be just fine!!!

Re: 2008 Professional Baseball Scouts Charity Showcase
I can just tell you that this thing is legit. There are tons of Area Scouts and Crosscheckers there, I dont know the name of the charrity but it benefits a guy who was paralyzed in a farm accident and was some sort of "legend" in OK baseball. Junior colleges from all over will attend and it is the best chance in this area to get your kid in front of 50 real major league org scouts. That being said, I think that a lesson at DBAT is something totally different than a showcase such as this.

Re: What are the best T-Ball Teams in the area?
Come on now. We all know that Catcher Shayne will let a group of tballers into the Dbrat org if they can pay the $2000. No matter how good or bad they r! What we really want to know is if he will continue to hide behind his aliases on here. What do you say NEWSCOUT? KNOCK KNOCK. WHO'S THERE? SHAYNE BE. SHAYNE BE WHO? SHAYNE BE NEWSCOUT.

Re: BB Organizations
I have a comment on the "baseball" side of this. My opinion is that summer baseball is so packed with games there is little to no time for practice. (Improvement is "on-the-job") So, big or small org seems less significant than your kid getting as many at bats against the best quality pitching possible. If you are on a big name team you will typically see the best pitching your opponent has available for that game. (ie not saving a pitcher for the next game) At the same time if he is sitting...

Re: Merrimack @ Salem
Bobby Tewks. If you are including Nick Poore in your questionable pitching decisions then you better get facts. Nick has never got close to 110 pitches in a game. His arm is 100%. And Hardball1 you don't understand because your not working with my team. I go above and beyond to make sure my players don't get hurt. There is too much speculation that goes on this site, if you have something to say about Salem Baseball you better get it right. My email is dkeleher@sau57.org

Re: Update on son's progress and willing to take any advice
bacdorslider, My son is a month younger than yours. We are about the same place in this baseball lifecyle. Our team has about 6 pitchers that throw in the 80's, so your son is right where he needs to be. The important thing is getting him visibility in showcases like the Perfect Game WWBA tournaments and the fall Underclassman showcase. I would expect your summer team will be coming to these. We have been to both the USA tryouts and Perfect Game tournaments the last 2 years and I would...

Re: Player Releases
Actually when I marketed my son there was tons of video and net profiles. Same as today ! We did no showcases at all while many friends did . A misconception about AAA, AA etc is that it reflects the level of play. AAA tend to be better but the OBA determines the designation based on population to draw players from. Our team was a AA size city that played AAA ! You can play up but not down ! I was there when the elite teams raided the OBA teams and the OBA reacted badly ! A once thriving...
