'14 & '15 Commit?

You can have a verbal commitment at anytime including prior to high school. UCLA seems to go early verbal commits. We had a local catcher who verbally committed to UCLA the beginning of his sophomore year.

Of course, the verbal really is only as good the schools word.

With the Coaching carousel that goes on today in college athletics it would be interesting to see if these commitments come to fruition. I hope it works out for the boys. UCLA is a fine institution and storied baseball program.

I know my son regrets making a early commitment even in his Senior year, hindsight. There were MANY more schools interested in him that spring and because he had already committed the coaches around this area knew it. And as we all know, they are a very, very, very tight knit bunch of buzzards..lol.
