There is a showcase event in the greater Houston area that has been rescheduled for July 8. This is a great opportunity for players to be seen by a bunch of really good Texas JuCo programs - including current National Champion Blinn College and perennial powerhouse San Jac. If you an uncommitted class of ‘24 or ‘25 player, I highly recommend attending. See ad below.

The conflict with travel ball tourneys presents a dilemma. I get that. Travel ball coaches won’t like what I’m about to say but it’s the truth. If you are an uncommitted ‘25 player, attending this event (or one like it) will do way more to help your chances of being recruited than any weekend tournament you play. Even Connie Mack qualifiers. It’s unfortunate, but some of you would be better off focusing on camps and not 17u travel ball. With a few exceptions, your travel ball team isn’t going to get you recruited. So you need to get more proactive about going to the best events yourself. Even if it means missing some team events.

My son attended two juco events as an incoming senior (tryout and camp) after both he was offered a scholarship. If juco coaches see what they're looking for, they will offer on the spot. It's a rare opportunity to get in front of so many schools, if the juco route is an option, this is well worth the time.

I've said it before on this site, but juco was instrumental for my son's opportunity to play at a P5 as a junior - the best possible choice for his journey.
