Did Chris Wietlispach play for the Blazers? Any word on his college opportunities?
Work hard and you will be rewarded!

Beenthere...Congrats on Ryan's decision from your fans in the middle of nowhere.
Also, about Wietlispach, I heard he is going to Yale for college, but I'm not sure. I also heard something about hitting 92 in Jupiter, I don't believe it, but maybe someone can verify it

All,
Wietlispach did play with us in Jupiter. He was scheduled to pitch our 6th game but unfortunatly we lost our 5th.
We played Baseball America in a non-tourney game and he threw 3 innings in the 83-84 range. I think he hit 88 or 89 once. His control was a little off however and it was not one of his better outings for us. He has a tremendous upside though. His curveball is one of the better one's I've seen in the Midwest. He just needs to work on some strength and endurance and some minor mechanical issues and he will be a big time college pitcher. He is the deffinition of "projectibility".
I had heard that he was leaning towards Yale but I haven't gotten on update on him.
On a side note....Congrats to Ryan, John and the whole Petrulis clan! JP I'll see you in Ft. Meyers.....I am going down as a scout/coach to help out PG.

pitch...Congrats to Tyler, too.
Dewey is a good man and fine coach. He'll enjoy his time at Bradley.
Played against Dewey when he played for the Bloomington Bobcats and I played for the Lincoln Collegiates in 1965 in the CICL. When you get older, everthing seems like "just yesterday".

Chris...Congrats on your commitment to Yale.
You and my son, Ryan, will be competing against each other beginning in 2005. He's going to Princeton.
There is a freshman at Harvard from River Forest now. He'll be playing this spring.

Don't forget Dave Bach @ Harvard. He will most likely start in the OF this year as a freshman.Terrific player w/speed to burn and a for real high avg. big power hitter
talking to Dave a while ago..I thought he said he wasn't sure how much playing time he would get...because of the talent there...maybe things have changed since November
Dave is a quality young man...a pleasure to be around and will do fine when he learns all the ins and outs of playing the outfield

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know for sure if any of those players received any scholarship dollars. Some may have.

Believe me...Gwynn saw two tools that Gwynn didn't have...the kid has two PLUS tools already.
Running speed and a big arm.
Played some last summer with the Naperville/Plaintfield/Lisle Express.
Not much pop in his bat but he doesn't need it in Northern high schools with his speed. The infielders wait to field the ball and then say "gees"...when he's past the bag. What I don't understand is that they do it over and over again!
Fastest runner I've seen in 25 years...especially in big situations.
He's about 6'0", about 165...maybe bigger by now.

Isn't Kenny Williams,Jr. the son of the White Sox GM? After last year's Area Code Try-outs, my son was asked to stay in Napierville to play a few games, one of which was against the young man's team. He played CF.
Same young man.
Matt Jernstad signed with Northern IL. WE are vary happy with his decision to play for Coach Ed Mathey and the Huskies. Knowing that his cousin Fritz Peterson who played for the NYYankees, played and still holds some records at Northern intrested him. WE noticed what coach Mathey and his staff did for the Huskie program, as well as North Central Collage and thought they were very impressive.Plus, it's alot closer than Michigan, Michigan St., SIU, ISU, EIU, just to name a few.
jerny...congrats to Matt. Ed Mathey is a great coach. Players love him. Check your private message.
