Here's something regarding Sean Bonesteele - dad is pbonesteele - Sean has a record of 4-0 and an eraof 3.55. "But while Bonesteele has been solid all of this season, what made Sunday specila was his ability to thrive under pressure. The majority of his outings this year have come in ho-hum situations wuth the game practically decided. But as the season has progressed, Bonesteele keeps entering more dicey situations. On Sunday, he came in with runners on teh corners, one out and the score tied in the top of the eighth. Bonesteele calmy got a strike out then induced a grounder to third off the bat of one of San Jose's best hitters, Tim Quiery, to end the threat." It goes on to compliment him on his change up he has developed this season, adding to his curve and fastball. "one of the most reliable arms out of the bullpen."
Hard work, dedication and perserverance pays off - congratulations!
University of Tampa wins South Region and is heading to Cary this week for DII College World Series!!

Just a fantastic group of players spreading out the offense and playing solid defense behind stellar pitching. It has been a good combination to watch all year long.

Son is all pumped to have such an experience his freshman year. He has learned so much in one year at U Tampa from the great coaches, and looks forward to many memories that should follow.

Let's go Spartans!!

Adrian pushed across two runs in the top of the 10th and set down the side in order in the bottom of the inning to defeat Washington and Jefferson 9-7 and advance in the Mideast Regional. The Bulldogs have to turn around and play tonight against top-seeded Heidelberg in the seven-team regional.

Illinois Wesleyan gave a No. 1 seed its first loss in the regionals, as the sixth-seeded Titans edged Buena Vista 2-1 in the Central opener.

Greg Van Sickler pitched eight innings of one-run ball and hit a pair of doubles to lead Shenandoah past Bridgewater (Va.) 11-1 in the South Regional opener, while Jordan Stine went 3-for-4 with three runs scored in UW-Whitewater's 6-1 win against Aurora in the Midwest Regional. Keystone had little trouble with Alvernia in a 13-3 win in the Mid-Atlantic, while Keene State shut out Skidmore 1-0 to open play in the New York Regional

Thomas More gave the PAC one win in the Mideast tournament as the Saints knocked off third-seeded and host school Marietta 4-3 in 10 innings. In New England, host Eastern Connecticut had little trouble with MASCAC champ Worcester State, scoring five in the third and four in the fifth en route to a 10-4 win. Top seeds Tufts and Cortland State won their early-afternoon games, while fellow No. 1 Johns Hopkins had little trouble with Moravian in a 13-4 win. Check the scoreboard for more.

Matt Schuld settled down after giving up four early runs and catcher Brady Field supported him with three hits and four RBI as St. Thomas pulled away from Carthage 14-6 in the Midwest Regional. Salisbury got the winning run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth in the second game of the South Regional, but James Connell came in to get the save, his fifth of the season, in LaGrange's 3-1 win.

There are still more games to be played, with six or seven in progress at any particular time, barring the weather issues in the West Regional. Plus, scroll down for more tournament coverage, including the 2010 Regional Previews, including our predictions.

Checking in from the D-III NY Regional.

My team (Oneonta) lost in the first game of the tournament, but we have went on to win 3 in a row from then. We lost to Farmingdale State in Game 1 (9-5). Then proceeded to defeat Brockport (9-7), Keene State (5-2) and Castleton (9-2).

There are only 3 teams left in the regional- us, St. John Fisher and Cortland. We will play St. John Fisher tomorrow (5/22) at 1 PM at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY (Blue Jays NY-Penn facility) for a shot at Cortland in the championship.

During the regular season, we split with St. John Fisher in a doubleheader at their place and beat Cortland 2 out of 3.
Thank you mikamom. I appreciate the support. Sean is just thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the team's success in any capacity, and thankful to God for guiding him through last year's struggles to help prepare him for the opportunities presented this year. He's a spiritual kid and it's amazing how he's grown in maturity through the whole process of embracing last year's adversity. That was terribly hard to see at the time but he's come through it filled with a calm confidence and maturity that allows him to focus on the moment from a center of being completely at peace. I truly believe that 'crucible' experience and his spirituality is really helping him now to calmly go about his job and get batters out in critical situations.

I'm also very proud that he finished his four years by completing his Bachelors degree on time.

Fresno finished the regular season yesterday as the #1 seed going into the WAC tournament. Since late-April Sean has seen more frequent action in critical situations, going 5-0-2 in his last nine relief appearances since then. In six of those recent appearances he entered the game with runners on and got out of those 6 game-changing innings without allowing a hit, walk, or run, stranding 12 LOB while recording 11 outs. He's allowed 5 hits in his last 13.2 IP of relief since late April.

Sean now has a 3.34 ERA, .210 OppAvg, and a .291 total Opponent OBP in 35 IP, all in relief.

Sunday was a happy/sad day. Happy to see the team close out the regular season on a high note and see the Seniors off with a win. Sad to see our last game at Bieden Field, at least with Sean in it, and be around all the wonderful people that make up and support the Fresno State baseball program. I know Sean feels enormously thankful for the support by the Fresno coaching staff and the fan base. Amazing how the last four years have just flown by. Now we just plan on enjoying every moment of the post-season as far as it takes us, then Sean loads up the truck to move home and see what wonderful plan God has in store for him next.

Nice summary pbone. I remember when our older son was a freshman in college...as the team lost the regional championship game and we waited down by the gate where the seniors came off the field with tears flowing. It caught me a little by surprise.

But 3 years later in our son's senior year...getting eliminated in Omaha (the CWS your son's team won! Smile), as we arrived back at the hotel, our son still had his uniform on. It didn't come off for a long time that night. The sight is as vivid as any memory in my head.

Its a wonderful, but emotional time you are in now. As you clearly know...enjoy every darn second of it!

Best! Wink
