dtiger,

You hit the nail on the head. I thought that game was an extra inning affair. Very good point. It was disappointing in the lines of the great "lightning indicator fiasco". But who am I to say anything.
San Antonio Reagan wins its second tournament in a row. Last weekend, it won the Border Olympics in Laredo and this weekend, it played in the Boerne tourney, defeating Boerne H.S. 13-4, Killeen Ellison 3-2, Corpus Christi Calallen 3-2, and San Antonio Holmes 8-5. Reagan is now 11-0-1 with a 2-0 district record.

JAFO,

You weren't the only one wondering how a Championship game ended in a tie after 7 in Flower Mound????? What's the deal with that

As Dtiger said - very disappointing indeed

Pretty ridiculous that they would end the Championship game of the tourney in a tie, but let the third place game go over the 2hr limit .. basically extra innings.. That makes no sense???

Guess so......but wouldn't you really rather know? In my humble opinion, the record is not half as important as seeing how the team will perform under pressure in the extra innings. Just a thought. It was a really good game until the 8th.......wait there was no eighth.

Ok, I'm done, before PD puts me under quarantine.
Rockwall played in the Centex Classic in Round Rock this weekend. Even though they went 2-3 they found out alot about their team for the season. They lost a close one to the Woodlands, 6-5, in the last inning with the bases loaded and lost to Westwood, 6-5, which came down to the end as well. Pitching and hitting looked good with a few bumps here and there but looking very positive for their district opener on tuesday against Garland at rockwall.

What? No comment from the FM contingent, to defend their honor?
I also found it quite amusing they would not allow heaters in the park for the parents per the school district, but would allow one in the FM dugout? Home cooking if you ask me. Speaking of home cooking, just to show there are no sour grapes here, they have a really nice grill that I was very envious of.
I thought both Flower Mound and Rowlett played one heck of a ballgame. But here is my question, since they let the previous game go extra innings with no time constraints...did they end it so they wouldn't cause injury to any arms? It was quite a bit cooler than when Jesuit and Boyd played. That is the only thing I can think of.

It could have been the field umpire pulled a muscle while calling someone out. You would have had to have been there to understand what I'm talking about.

I don't think anyone has heard an explaination. Sure would like to hear one though.

Ed Sir - That is one awesome grill!

Rowlett won't see FM again until....state....true?

PD - My son said they ran out of time. If that's the case, I'm with JAFO. I don't understand how you let the third place game go into extra innings and stop the championship game in a tie.

There's no conspiracy in my mind. I'm just curious.

No conspiracy here PD and expect no explaination. Just entertainment on a slow Monday. I was feeling unsatisfied after Saturdays tie. A tie is like kissing your sister. Plus, there are just too many stories like this, that make you say "humm" with regards to FM. So I'm giving FM a hard time and thought they could defend themselves(yes, another jab). Thats what make fun rivalries.

Rowlett plays them again at Ameriquest at the end of the March. It will be another fun game.

She's in a traveling carnival, and we don't talk about her much. She operates the tilt-a-world.

PD you should know we are not players and don't talk to the coach.

And by the way let's tap those breaks on state. Last time I saw a District season you had to get in the playoffs first.
The third place game ran out of time in the 6th inning. Originally Jesuit was down 4 runs going into the inning but came back to tie it. The umpire asked the Jesuit coach what the rules were in case of a tie, and after checking the board our coach said there was to be one extra inning played. Then he asked (it looked like he did, not 100% sure on this) the other coach if it'd be OK. The coaches agreed and we played one more-ending in a Jesuit win. My guess is that this too may have happened-game running out of time before full 7. OR the coaches agreed to not play anymore? I really don't know. Pitching was low for Jesuit in the final inning, we pitched a kid who hadn't thrown since Soph. year... and now he has more wins than I do. (Joking statement, no one is intended to be hurt or act like I care... it might've been the overall funniest game-in terms of quirks and stuff- I've played in HS). Both teams in this case know that district is what is important... a good game with good baseball being played on both sides truly probably satisfies both teams.
