How about those Wylie Pirates! Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due. 17-8 on the season, I believe that is 6 in a row in 9-5A. Wow, what a comeback for a team that was considered down and out. Congratulations.
I will take Jake Feckley in a 1 game series against any team in state. We scored 5 against him and the kid still bares down and beats us. And to make matters worse he goes to bunt and does not execute; so he swings away with two strikes and hits 380 bomb.
The kid is impressive as is all the Wylie Pirates.

His HR was more like 315 feet.
quote:I heard the PESH vs. Wylie game was a good one.
Wylie 7
PESH 5
WP--Feckley
LP--Emens
Wylie HR--Feckley(1) Atwell(1) Vennett(1) Jordan(1)
PESH HR--Emens(1)
Feckley HR to take the lead
Atwell HR adds to the lead
Emens HR ties game
Vennett and Jordan HR back-to-back to take lead
Snider drives in 2 to tie it up
Wylie scores 2 to win
Actually Vennet hit 2, the last one was a 2 homer walk off win

Thats what impresses me most about him. He is extremely mature for an 09.
Feckley did indeed have a good game and beared down when it seemed he was losing control. This sets up a great opportunity for Wylie to grab second place in 9-5A. If they beat West then Lake Highlands, they have 2nd all to themselves, but it will be tough, playoff spots are still wide open in this district. Congratulations Pirates!

Ok PD who cares how far it went, it was a HR on an 0-2 count after he had missed two bunts, what really matters is he got the job done after failing to get the bunts down.

Chill out All State. See the smiley next to his post.
Sorry Ringer1, didn't mean to offend anyone
For Wylie to get 2nd many things would have to happen:
East to lose twice
Wylie to win out.
East to lose twice
Wylie to win out.

Your exactly right TTU
As a coach, how do you respond to that? I guy fails to move the runner twice then hits a ball 380 feet, smiley or not. What, if anything, do you say to the kid?

Give the kid all the props he deserves

I know what his dad would tell him. Get the job done the first time! Then he'd give him a big pat on the back.

Plano has a really tough hill to climb. So besides the obvious West I'll go with East, Allen & Wylie. Haven't seen Wylie play yet but looks like they've pulled it together nicely and they beat BHS 11-0.
I'm not right very often so had to gloat for a sec.
Final Standings
Plano West 14-0
Allen 9-5
Wylie 8-6
PESH 8-6
BHS 7-7
When will PESH and Wylie play for the 3rd spot?
Friday night at Plano High School.
