Krak,
"stop throwing that krap, you're making me look bad."
That's funny!
I actually heard him say it - it was about half way through a game where Tristan's curve was really biting hard and this catcher must have let over half of them get past. He is/was strictly a straight-ball catcher. It really made me angry because, obviously, catcher's need to support their pitchers. My son kept quiet and continued to throw his stuff.
not to be rude or anything, but i think there is now way in hell a 14 year old could throw 90 most varsity pitchers couldn't throw that, and on top of that his mechanics would have to be amazing absolutley perfect, and he would be all over the baseball radar.
(just a bit skeptic is this a hypothetical situation or are you for real)

I haven't seen one throw 90. But I have seen a 14 year old throw 85+. Of course he was 6'-5".
They have and they do.
Linear might be referring to Robert Stock, well known to many of us.
Robert was recently named Baseball America's 2005 Player of the Year - at age 15!

(That's THE player of the year, not just the 15U POY.)
As noted in the BA article, "The 6-foot, 180-pound 15-year-old was tossing 90 mph fastballs by the time he was 14 and has been known to connect on 400-foot home runs, using a wood bat."
pitching101, you are right, this particular player is "all over the baseball radar."
Robert's dad is a nice guy and a member of our forums also.

I remember this kid from 3 years ago! Wow! He was always on target with hitting and pitching analysis and I conversed with him often about both to the early morning hours. It is good to see this very intelligent young man do so well!
This info made my day!
