BAD,
Are you saying that Houston area has inferior baseball? You're kidding right? All you ever here on here is how much better the South is than the North. Now because they are going there you bash the south. They tried to get in up here, AABC put them in the Houston brackets.
P1,
I wasn't aware that AABC "placed" teams in specific state tournaments. Thanks for the info. I was hoping to see the Dragons play this summer, but it appears that I won't get the opportunity unless you win the Houston tourney. Good luck in Houston as you are correct, there will be some very good teams playing there. I certainly don't believe going to Houston is an easier path to the regional.
PD - I hope PDson is doing better.

It is my understanding that the Dragons 18 played in an AABC league that was run in a tournament format run by Ray Van Keuren out of Houston. Teams had to register AABC, commit to three tournaments and play a minimum of nine games. They were originally slotted to play in Houston since that's where the league is out of.

Berkner dropped out of the BBI State tourney so they were able to play closer to home.

PD-
why are you only questioning Dragons qualifying?
Have you also checked every other team that is playing in the State Tournaments? or are you just singling out the Dragons for some reason?
I was just curious. I have acquaintances who's sons play for the Dragons and I have heard that they do not play in a league -- just tournaments. I did not know there was another way to qualify for AABC post-season. Now I know. Smile The Dragons practice at Plano East....with a few players from there....my son has met and talked to Jeremy a few times (they both played at HSU)....so, I have interest. Believe me, I have no under-handed intent. I don't mean to single anyone out ----- but frankly, I don't care how EVERY team qualified.

Are you kidding me?
It appears to me that the Dragon supporter here is looking for some reason to say "hey the Dragons are as good as anyone here" Don't ask any questions or make any comments or we'll come to your house and let the air out of your tires. Come on, loosen up just a little bit.

Really, no one is out to get you. Stop being so defensive about every little comment. In the grand scheme of things. it's just not that important!

Hey Deviled Eggs, looks like BBI is your best bracket so far. Not so good other places.
And other than the host team, others do not know the tournament mix until they announce the brackets. This may offend some -- and it is not my intent to do so -- but BBI and LS send several teams from their leagues....and it is just difficult for some teams to compete with the select organizations. Likewise, the HS teams from Lone Star typically have a tough time competing with the top select teams. This is not news to anyone. I know that from experience as well ---- my middle son played on a HS team in Lone Star for years. They did very well. But when it came down to winning the state tournament, it was very difficult.

From my perspective, none of the state tournaments look that tough for the best teams. I think Lone Star looks the toughest and there are 5 BBI Premier teams there (out of 9). The top 2-3 Lone Star teams will do well. One of them does not even have to play in state.

Just my opinion, but it seems that BBI bracket is pretty weak other than one team. Several of those scores don't seem to indicate very competitive games. Guess you don't have to worry about using up all your best pitchers. Is it up to the coaches to decide if they play in LoneStar or BBI??? How does that work?

Run Differentials (Through 3 Rounds)

BBI 57
Lone Star 51
Super Eight 58

I don't see a big descepency in competition.
DT, PD, and JAFO thanks for the info. Esp. the run differentials. We have seen some good games at Lone Star. Had a wild one against Team Texas yesterday and now face those Dragons today. Good luck to everyone.
PD, will PD Son be healed in time for that Garland/East FB game? Hope the healing is going well, but those just take time and I suppose one can reinjure it if you try to test it too soon.

....and who might that one team be, in your opinion.

I have seen three games so far and I promise you four of the teams I watched could play with any Lone Star team, in my opinion. Wink
