I know as the kids get older some of them stop wearing cups. Not a great practice IMO...

It's a video a guy can only watch once. I saw it last night. He's out several weeks with swollen testicles.

No bueno...
DUH! Do these people think their skill on the field will save them from a bad throw/hop?
Last week my kid had a 9th/10th grade summer workout with the baseball team. It looked like everyone that played on a "Major" team was in shorts and a t-shirt. My son had actually asked me ahead of time if he could wear that and I told him "No, if you want to be treated like a high school baseball player you need to LOOK like a high school baseball player." When he saw all the "Major" kids wearing shorts he gave me this look of "See mom, I TOLD YOU"...he wasn't giving me that look when the short stop needed assistance walking off the field after a bad hop

See shorts and t-shirts a lot around here, at times. It really depends on what is on the practice calendar for that day. If its some BP and light throwing, I don't see anything wrong with it. If your getting into game play or situational play and need to be able to slide or dive for balls, then you better be wearing pants.
Ouch. But notice that the umpire called time before any play was made.
I was talking to our short stop after a game yesterday. It was one of those bad fields where you had no idea where the ball was going to hop to. He tells me, it was really scary because did did not have a cup on. Then he asks me not to tell the coach. (I am just a dad and he is a friend of my sons.) I just sent the video to my son and asked him to share it with the player.
When you see the replay, listen to the crowd's reaction as it was replayed on the Jumbotron. That kind of says it all.
He'll need to put those "boys" on ice or a bag of pees for about a week.

It's what the Indians reported as the injury. Regardless, he'll be walking funny for a while.
I can only say I stopped wearing a cup at 8th grade, both of my boys stopped wearing one before that...these are the risks you take. I never wore one to play football either however I think baseball is more dangerous for this topic!

Stupid! No one ever said baseball players were real smart!

Very hard to argue this....
Wow - that looked bad! Many years ago in college my 2B double play partner took a hit on a groundball during pre-game infield of all things. He went down, was spitting blood, was in the hospital for a few days and out of action for several more after that. He said that one of them swelled up to the size of a tennis ball. That sobered me up. I wore a cup the rest of my playing days - even after converting to CF. I tell this true story to any player, but especially infielders who insist on "going commando" out there.

LOLOLOLOL!!!! What a typical man!
"Juan Uribe Jokes He Doesn't Wear Cup Because Trainers Don't Have His Size"
Well, maybe not a TYPICAL man... reading the rest of the article, apparently the trainer confirms that it's true, they don't have his size.
Could have gone so many different directions with emoji but trying to keep it clean.
