My 2015 son was invited to attend the 2nd Annual All American / BaseballSavings.com Top 100 Showcase in Phoenix over MLK weekend. Obviously, with this being just the 2nd annual, it is pretty new, but I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with this.

It appears to be set up similarly to DeMarini Top 96. The e-mail tells me my son was nominated by a coach (with whom we've never had contact with, to my knowledge) from a school I have not heard of. They say they guarantee at least 15 "current college coaches" will be on the field coaching an evaluating (3 game guarantee, only one field, etc). The e-mail provides a list of "some" of the schools that will be represented (including the school that nominated my son) and they are mostly mid-level or lower Division I schools (ten), with 3-4 Division II and 3-4 NAIA schools also represented.

Someone else asked about this and I pasted my response but want to let you know my experience with the coaches they list - it seems to be a changing group - signed up and the coaches changed several times. I was initially worried because we were looking to a short list of schools - High Academic. But it really worked out for us. I have suggested folks locally to this group and believe it is a great group.

"My son went to the summer showcase in Wichita as a Senior to be summer of 2011. At that point nobody really knew who he was. I can tell you that he is pretty well known now, had a number of college offers and has now signed for 2012 at a D2 school offering his desired major as a Engineer. He got calls on his way home from the showcase and I found the word spreads quickly. The promoter of this event was very kind and even took a couple of calls from me. I would urge atendance to this camp - there is one in January too."
