UALR is a school with mostly commuters from Little Rock. It is considered to be a rather average school academically.

The baseball program is under the direction of third year head coach Jim Lawler. Lawler was Mark Johnson's top assistant at Texas A&M for 30 years. The Sun Belt Conference is tough and UALR hasn't been able to crack the upper echelon of the conference in a while. Everyone few years, someone will sign a pro deal.

The facility recently was upgraded but still lacks behind most mid-major DI's in terms of playing service and other ammenities. The infield of Gary Hogan Field is turf with the rest of the field being a natural surface.

Don't know much about the assistants. Jim's nephew Scott was the pitching coach two years ago before joining the staff at Notre Dame.
One of my friends just finished 4 years there. He was always injured and last year hardly threw at all. The year before he was their closer with great numbers. He was there when the new coach came and cleaned house. Let 3 of his roommates go. My friend had another year of eligibility but didn't go back. I haven't heard him say anything bad about the school othyer than the letting go of his roommates.
