This is a carry over from the California Site…..I believe that this idea needs a bigger audience, so I’ve copied this and pasted it so everyone will understand when URKMBlue, TPMom, HighlanderMom, and others are wearing…..this

Well, I guess that my inner Winkle has return to the surface. The boys of ‘Eater ball want the Bull and not AEDad….Ok find by me.

URKMBlue: As of today, I would say the Bull will be in Berserkly for opening weekend. You can’t miss me, I kinda stand out, but I will be quiet. (Freshman parents are to be seen not heard)

How about an avatar bet? The loser of the series must use the avatar of the winning team until the next weekend, So, if Cal wins the series, I will use the Cal avatar for one week, if UC Irvine wins, you must use a UCI Avatar for one week.

OK, URKMBlue are you up for this?

Hmmm - an avatar bet... Can't hardly pass up the opportunity for the HSBBWeb to enjoy the Bullwinkle in Cal garb for a week, can I? You are on, my rhinos-challenged friend.

Sounds like the guantlet has been thrown down and the challenge accepted. The very first HSBBW avatar bet is on. That plus a chance for a "Bullwinkle" sighting could be a reason for a trip to Evans Diamond. Actually, that might not be so rare in downtown Berkeley

I would like to get in on the bet as well, but can being a former HighlanderMom get that covered? There is nothing more that I would enjoy than seeing Bullwinkle's antlers bedecked in a UCR cap ...

Since the series is so much earlier this season (mid-April as opposed to mid-May) I am sure I won't get to the games as I plan on traveling somewhere to avoid it ... 14

As you can well imagine, you might get me to wear an Anteater shirt or even an Anteater hat or even a rack of antlers on your behalf
but as to making any reference to the former "sheriff" as my daddy ...

You probably had to "be there" for 3 years in the Big West Conference to understand the relationship between UCR and UCI

URKMB & TPM ...

I hope he has to wear the Cal shirt to Clemson. By the time he gets back, after wearing all the fur (bear fur topped by tiger fur...) he will be ready to wear Braveheart blue and gold fur when he finishes watching the UCR/UCI series. (By they way, last time UCI played AT UCR ... in '03 ... the results were definitely in UCR's favor.

Bullwinkle...you mean Serrano now?? And by the way, I'll take part of that bet with UCI vs BYU @ Anteater Park in FEB...even though we are coming out of the snow, I'll take BYU for 2-3..I think you will see a much improved hitting team and pitching staff.

We'll switch for 2 weeks and you can sign off " Law is my daddy"...or maybe I'll have to do the Serrano thing.

Are we on? I'll be there, so maybe I can get the donuts!

Starzz....after talking to my Lutheran Pastor and making sure that betting with a Cougar is not sacrilegious.....your on...

But it's only ONE week....cause after BYU, is Clemson and TPMom has already foolishly agreed to a bet.

So currently:

Feb 4,5,6 bet is on with URKMBlue (CAL)
Feb 17,18, 19 bet is on with Sartzz (BYU)
Feb 25,26,27 bet is on with TPMom (Clemson)
April 15,16,17 bet is on with FutureBack Mom (UC Riverside)

DB2BMOM might take you up on the avatar bet for Long Beach ... As for Fullerton, I really don't think any of their fans frequent this site. They are too busy with TitanCentral and the message boards of opponents.

However, I must admit that I have developed very strong friendships with parents and fans from opposing BWC schools.

OK, I have followed this as close as I can at a quick glance, who needs the TITAN hat?

Also Congrats to UCI for finally getting some real Coaching, Chad Baum has been my sons catching coach for about 2 years. He had to drop because of the greater commitment as a paid coach. Who knows the eaters may get a decent catcher out of their ranks now, LOL duel Big Grin

I need to spend some more time reading this carefully I am doing this while at work. Eek

Bullwinkle, an avid UCI fan, has established some "bets" with other team fans. The deal is that when UCI faces another team, with a fan who posts to this board, the fan whose team LOSES the series must switch their avatar (the little picture under their board name) to that of the winning team for one week.

So far, Bullwinkle has bets with a Cal mom (URKillingMeBlue), a Clemson mom (Tiger Paw Mom), a BYU dad (Starzz), a future dirtbag mom (DB2BMom), possibly a Cal Poly SLO dad (NorthernCalif_Dad), and a former UCR mom (that would be me, formerly known as Highlandermom). We were hoping that we could get a Titan fan to participate so that Bullwinkle can wear more of the BWC avatars (I am hoping we can also entice matadordad to participate) throughout the season.

If this makes sense, are you interested in representing Fullerton?

UCI Baseball

Dave Serrano, Head Coach Serrano, 40, assumes the Anteater position after serving as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for George Horton at Cal State Fullerton the past eight years.

Chad Baum is also in his first season as an assistant coach with the Anteaters and will work with the catchers and infielders while also aid in hitting instruction.

Prior to UC Irvine, Baum served in the same capacity as a volunteer assistant coach at Cal State Fullerton from 2001 to 2004 and helped the Titans to three College World Series appearances, including a national championship in 2004. Baum was instrumental in developing 2004 Johnny Bench Award winner Kurt Suzuki, who was also a first-team All-American and second-round pick by Oakland in the 2004 major league draft.

Jason Gill is the only guy I see on the Titan staff that was ever with UCI.

Never said current coaching staff didn't have prior ties to fullerton, I stated that fullerton coaching also has ties with UC Irvine....As you stated Jason Gill, who was at UCI for the last 3 years is now at fullerton...

But we all came from somewhere....

Coach Holmgren has coached and mentored many of the current NFL head coaches....Coach Horton is doing the same, quality programs with quality coaches do this...I am very happy to have Coach Serrano and his staff coaching my son and UCI.
