Did you see 123KMom's son close out the final game? He did great.
For those who don't know, Jeff Stimpson, freshman RHP at Stanford currently leads the team with a 0.00 ERA in 4 apperances, 8 2/3 innings. He's earning more time on the mound every time he goes out there.
He came in yesterday in the 8th with bases loaded and 1 out and got a double play ground ball and then finished it off in the 9th. He looked quite good.
What was more fun for me, being the parent of a pitcher, was watching Mr. and Mrs. Stimpson nervously watch their son confidently work the final 5 outs of the game with Cal Poly. On my way out, I asked Mr. Stimpson if he was breathing yet - with a sigh of relief, he answered in the affirmative
What a nice set of parents and a very bright looking future for Jeff!
