Actually teams can have a 21st game by qualifying that extra game as a VHSL benefit game (all as described in the VHSL rules.) Basically, the way I read it, the VHSL gets half of the admission charges.
Sort of related question....If Kellam wins today will they be forfieting the Semi-Final in SC because they can't go over the limit? If a team plays 3 district tournament games, 4 Regional games (in some regions) and then 3 state tournament games they will play 10 post season games in about three weeks while the 20 regular season games are spread out over 2 1/2 months. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to play 50% of the number of games in 30% of the time frame when comparing the post season and regular season scheduling.

That is exactly what Grassfield had to do a couple of years ago in that same tournament. Don't remember if it was the championship game but they had to bow out due to the 20-game limit. I believe that Kellam would have had to arrange for one game to be a VHSL benefit game or they are stuck with the 20-game limit.
Good point Pilot, Landstown is making some noise, if they win today against Oscar Smith, they win the Beach Bash 4-0! Talk about SS, the Landstown kid #5 is rolling..I think he is batting around.700, grand slam yesterday, has about 20 rbi's so far. He is a well rounded athlete and it shows every time I can get out and watch them.

Not happy to see the L, but understand playing the youngbucks. Thanks for the update. Do you know when they play again next week. Any idea on how to buy or attain a pass to sit in the pressbox during hot or cold weather, I heard its nice in there?

I believe the camp starts at 9am. The camp is put on for green run little league. All the campers will be kids from the green run little league registered youngsters.
Can you please provide more facts regarding your assessment of timid and poor about the FC pitcher who gave up only 1 run in 7 innings, 77 pitches and no walks. I saw Hanover play cox today and the Hanover SS hit a Bomb off a D1 prospect and the entire team looks like a D1 team and hit the ball hard all day. Cox played great and Won, but giving up only 1 run against that squad seems to be a performance to be proud of. What are we missing? I'll take timid and poor all day long if it produces only 1 run in 7.
I was at the FC game, I don't know, no walks, 4 hits,a 1 to 0 loss, pretty good game, but on a better note, Clay Frizzell is getting better and I saw the Cox game today too, and they are hitting the ?? out of the ball, so with Landstown playing well, Cox being Cox, Salem getting Newman back, and FC being consistent, its going to be a fun 2nd half of the season, let the Kids have fun and sit back and enjoy some good baseball, watch out for Cox, they are good

Innings you saw? You apparently saw no innings. Please explain how a pitcher can be timid and have poor location in a 77 pitch complete game, with no walks, and no earned runs. That timid pitcher with poor location now has thrown 3 complete games without giving up an earned run.

You clearly have a problem with Reid, so direct you comments at him and leave his son out of it....moron

Looks like a lot of the teams had good showings during spring break. Let's see how some of these guys do the second half playing back in their district. I agree FC/Cox looking stronger. I think those two can give Kellam strong competition.

The hanover ss, Andrew Knizner, is a 2013 D1 commit to NC State. I watched that game and he played like a beast in the field.

That's great. It's exciting to see area talent getting shots at some of the higher end D1 schools.
Hanover did not "crush" him and in any reasonable evaluation of the word "crush" producing 1 run in 7 innings is far from a crushing!

Stating that "Hanover did not crush him is a joke", seems like now you are criticizing the FC Pitcher and the entire Hanover Team. Clearly this game did not live up to your expectations.

Publically criticizing kids on a high school baseball discussion board, in my “opinion” does not really meet the definition of "Contributing"? However, it might meet the definition of disrespectful.

These are not pro athletes these are kids playing for their high school. Most will never play a day at another level. Enjoy the games!! Baseball is a way for kids to grow up, to become men. It just so happens they do it on a stage, in front of others where their faults can be seen. Let’s give the kids the respect they deserve, let them grow up without bashing them. If you have some way to help a kid , then share it with him. That is what most of us on this site have done and are still doing, Otherwise, well… come on man!!!

These are just 1 opinion on the subject and one "contribution".

And what exactly are you "contributing" besides the fact that you have a personal issue with pilots81?

First of all, I think it is comical you decided to respond publically rather than the PM I sent. I understand your intentions.

Secondly, I can warn you about anything that doesn't fit this board's reason for existence. If you have a problem with my moderation, contact MN-Mom.

Let's take a look at some of your "contributions" made to date:

1) questioning Landstown's infield
2) insulting Pilots81
3) antagonizing/insulting paintboy
4) edited by me for posting the contents of a PM
5) insulting paintboy
6) insulting/bashing a player who just threw and efficient CG
7) same as #6 but different insult

So, what exactly have you contributed to this forum? It is obvious you have a problem with Pilots81. This is not your forum to attack him nor his son. Sack up and talk to him face to face. Would you like his phone number?

I will not warn you again.

Well said. Some others in this forum need to read and heed this as well.
I agree with Redbird.....

Agreed, well said. If it isn't someone trying to bash a player, it's a Dad that thinks he's anonymous always talking about his own kid. Let's stick to the team concept.
Those of you familiar with my posts know that I am all for the freedom of expression and the free exchange of opinions, ideas and comments; however, I draw the line when those expressions are motivated by malice, hatred or ignorance. Constructive criticism of team play or coaching is one thing, personal vendettas and attacks are something completely different. I am even open to a little playful banter every now and then as long as it does not get out of hand (e.g., my exchange with my archnemesis SEDBaseball). It's not the comments I have a problem with, it is the motivation. Your sole purpose on this board should never be to hurt, deride or chastise a kid or his parents.

Just my two cents because I had it to spare.

I have been following this little road trip since the start. There is obviously some personnal issues being aired publicly here. I think to bash a kid or parent behind the mask of an online name is cowardly and simple. Also, to call someone a "moron" is only going to fuel the fire for something like this to continue. Opinions are just that, personnal reflections. But to verbally attack someone because of a different issue and to mask is by stating it is your "opinion", is just low. Man up, hash it out or move on. This is about baseball.

OL should definitely make the tournament. I only think two maybe three teams are most likely out of the running based on 1st half performance. But I wouldn't base too much on how the 2nd half might go off of the spring break games. Hanover is always a competitive team. I wouldn't say many of the others would fair well in the beach district. Looking forward to see how it all shakes out though. Good luck to them all.
I saw the FC / Hanover game. I think the FC pitcher looked pretty good. Nothing particularly great but simply keeps em guessing and off balance. This would not impress those scouts that like a GUN to do all their recruiting. As for no hitting behind him, Maybe the coach should let him have a swing or two and he could have wom his own game! He is a better hitter than at least 2 in the order.
