The only connection to baseball is they had Aaron Rowand as a pregame visitor on the field.

Worst pro football team I've ever seen.

Quarterback rating of 26.7...This guy is a pro?

Anthony Kropp of Lincoln Way East would do better.

They'll make the playoffs (sorry as it seems) and lose in the 2nd round.

eerily similar pattern of quacky wins and unusual season developing as that of another Chicago team. If pattern continues to hold a banged-up Roethlisberger won't play or will be ineffective and the odd turnover parade will continue in their favor.
nole, only team I think they'd have no chance against is Indy in a dome. Seriously have to consider Grossman whenever he's healthy. Why teams aren't putting 9,10, or 11 in the box is beyond me - they (Bears) simply have no passing game. Still, a couple breaks, turnovers, bad calls etc. and anything can happen.
A real fan can look realistically at what is happening on the field and seperate that from blindly rooting for your chosen team. I root huge for the Bears but I also know they've played a weak schedule, caught the few good teams they've played at the right time to beat them, and benefitted from lots of turnovers, some forced by their own pressure and some just flat out lucky.
Soxnole, I hope your wrong about Rex. Orton now has more starts, wins, etc. than Grossman has in his career - but if Orton is better than Grossman we'll spend the next 3-4 years hoping this great defense can continue to outscore other teams. This anemic offense reminds me of the Jack Pardee era minus #34. And it's never all the qb's fault - Moose has been a disappointment at wr and there is no other outside speed. Also - why does Ron Turner get a free pass everywhere he goes? Just mediocre in 1st tour with Bears, 1 good year and about 6 awful ones in Champaign. Looks like they run the same 12 plays every Sunday.
Hmmmm......the problem with the Bear style of play is that you have to be almost perfect to win. One mistake and it's over......kind of like trying to win a baseball game 1-0....one walk or error...then a bad pitch and you lose 2-1. Tremendous pressure is being put upon the defense and in my opinion it has started to show the last two weeks. If the offense doesn't improve it will be hard to sustain the winning.
Beenthere, no rushing game? Top 5 in the NFL in total rush yards, rush per play, and top four in rushes over 20 yards. i guess everyone is just have their bad games against the bears. The bears pressure the QB with four lineman, maybe the hardest thing to do in football. Only two or three teams in the league put that kind of pressure on a QB without having to blitz on every other play. If you don't like them, then don't watch. If you comment on them, make it accurate.
In my opinion the Bears will have to loosen things up a bit in the next couple of weeks. Teams although in the playoff hunt still are not showing everything in their offensive and defensive packages. Defenses will start to put 8,9, and sometimes 10 men in the box to stop the run. If the Bears are unable to throw effectively they will get beat. Fastball dad is correct they will have to play a perfect game, especially offensively, and to me, they will make a mistake at a critical point in the game and lose. Rex needs some work just because of the fact that if you do need him he has gotten his feet wet again.
Hmmmm....Let's revisit this issue...Chicago sports writer today: "...(Bears) might be the worst 9-3 team in the history of the NFL"

I'm not talking about meaningless rushing yards that result in NOTHING except statistics to the rushers.

In the 9 games that they've won, how many drives over 50 yards, which resulted in touchdowns, have they had which resulted in the bulk of the yardage being gained via the rushing route?

Answer: ZERO.

Not only are they bad, they are being considered as being one of the worst teams in the history of the NFL at this point.

Sheesh, 9-3 is still 9-3.
Beenthere and Soxnole - I am a HUGE Bears fan and more than welcome discussion about the Bears and their season. But aren't we opening a can of worms to be discussing non-Baseball issues on a Baseball website? What would you say if I chose to start talking about other sports, or political topics, etc?
I am just watching out for this website. I can already see forums started on topics other than Baseball. Then this will no longer be a High School Baseball website.
I am sure this is harmless talk, but I come here to read about Baseball. If I want to discuss other topics, I go to those websites. Of course, I do find it interesting that an Old Timer like TR is in on this discussion.

Soxnole, Now you are bashing my beloved bears. I can take the cubs bashing because they deserve it. But to say the cardinals beat the bear like a drum is like beenthere saying the bears don't run the ball successfully. Let me break it down for you so you understand it. 1930's (bears 8-0-2) 1940's (bears 7-3) 1950's bears 6-4) against your cardinals. Maybe your dolphins can play the canes, maybe they would have more success than you noles the past ten years. Just kidding with you Pat.
