LHP, for a 17 year old, you sound like someone that has been given a pretty good sales pitch by another who wants you to use. I know Big Mac used Andro. I know it came onto the market in 1997 and so, 1998 it was/is assumed that he used it during that outstanding season. I know that there are 6 versions of Andro. I know a couple of the listed possible side effects are acne and RAGE! (BTW, I know the effects steriods had on me when I was receiving them under a doctor's care = RAGE. I carry a scar on my forehead due to one bout of rage.) I know that Andro is applied typically in a cream. Regarding Creatine, you take it? Go ahead but my child won't. I'd like to remind anyone taking any suppliment like that to remember you aren't going to be young all of your life and that muscle your building is going to turn into fat. I know, not you. LOL!

For those of you who thrive in the court of public opinion what do you think of the fact that Bonds was selected to the All Star Team by your cohorts in that court ?

Glove Man

you are so wrong---your thinking does not give you the t right to condemn a man in public as you and others do---the man has not been proven guilty---look at Clemens body or the Williams sisters---you can say the same about them but you don't
Just because my thinking isn't the same as yours doesn't mean I can't state my OPINION, yes I know we all have one and nobody needs another one. I have EVERY right to state my opinions, in public and in private. I don't give a cr^p if he hasn't been proven guilty, OJ was found not guilty by his peers, that doesn't mean I believe he didn't do it. He's a murderer.

Clemens, Sosa, Bagwell, etc... I have my own doubts about them and a lot more.

Don't you mean Williams brothers? I am convinced they are not female! Wink

Notice I am not here to try and challange your thinking. I cannot change your thinking, so don't try to change mine.

If you just listen a bit, you just might learn something. You're never too good, or too old to learn something new everyday.

Hope your day brings you sunshine and happiness.

Personally I think comparing wrestlers to baseball players is absolutely ludicrous

Baseball players use their training and athletic ability to entertain crowds of people who pay money to watch them play. Whereas, pro wrestlers use their training and athletic ability to entertain crowds of people who pay to watch them play.

While wrestlings outcome may be predetermined, I think TR's comments are condescending and judgemental. TR has judged wrestling as ludicrous in his own court of opinion but has decided that any judgements about steroid abuse are off limits unless proven in a court of law.

We are all entitled to state our opinions, it is the American way. I love baseball and I want to see it grow and thrive. Because I cannot prove a mass of players did or did not use steroids, does not mean I am not allowed to state that I think certain players have obviously used them. Steroids are cheating, plain and simple. Bonds and Sosa and all the rest don't need to be convicted in a court of law for me to publicly state that I think they cheated.

Internet poll from 7-18-07 after it was reported that Steroids were in Benoit's system when he killed his son and wife then hung himself;

Do you think steroids played a role in the Benoit tragedy?

Yes 280,098 84%
No 53,054 16%

That pesky "court of public opinion".
make that 53,056 ... the Ga. medical examiner & coroner both say - NO

and another curiosity ...

w/o getting too graphic they also mentioned high BAC (alchohol) in Nancy Benoit -
but disregarded it as "natural fermentation" quickly takes place in the deceased

so why was Card's Josh Hancock's death basicly defined by his BAC?

if he'd had a different coroner, would it have just been a tragic traffic accident?

Need to prove 'em guilty firt. Other than that it is only suspicion that Bond's grew so large soley because of diet & workouts.
We seem to view career records different than single season. In my mind a record is broken if it is completed in the same number of games or at bats, or less, than the current record holder. It makes for great discussions but Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs in 2,503 games. Hank Aaron hit 755 but he played in 3,298 games. Barry Bonds has hit 751 in 2,941 games. Ruth was also had a career batting average of .343 and was a top lefty hurler in his day. Ruth still holds a World Series record for pitching that may never be broken - a 14 inning complete game victory.for the Boston Red Sox in the 1916 series. 14 IP 6H, 1R, as Boston won 2-1 in 14. The losing pitcher, Sherry Smith, went 13 1/3 innings. Ructh proved you don't need steriods. You can do it with hot dogs & beer.

What Bee> and I are referencing is the Coroner's Report presented yesterday and shown live on various stations. The actual statistics given were made by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and their top executive involved in this case.
Coach and Bee,

I wanted to see what exactly was said. You gentleman suggested that they ruled out steroids as a contributing factor. I didn't see the video report, but the written articles don't quote those men as ruling out steroids. The written articles refer to studies linking steroids to violent behavior. So I was interested in how the "ruled out" steroids. For instance, did they say, "we have no conclusive evidence that steroids contributed to the tragedy", or "steroids had nothing to do with this".
bb1954,

it caught my attention too.
in response to a Q from reporters, the GBI guy said -

"testosterone level before his death is unknown" -
they don't know if level "fades after death, lowering the blood level" or if
"organs release previously stored testosterone after death increasing the blood level"

yes, it was more like
"we have no conclusive evidence that steroids contributed to the tragedy"

Bee,

Thank you for you response. It seems to me that, as coach said, steroids MAY indeed have contributed as most people beleive (poll results). They can't conclusively say yes, but they can't say no either. I think nothing that has been said in this case really makes or breaks the case for the dangers of steroids. But, it is another in a growing list of cautionary tales. Conclusion, keep the kids, and adluts away.
