Best 15/16u Team this summer

NO PARTICULAR ORDER BEST 16 year old teams
DALLAS MUSTANGS
DALLAS TIGERS
FORT WORTH CATS
MCKINNEY MARSHALLS
ARLINGTON A'S

I know the Mustangs and cats played in 15 year old aabc world series in owasso last year. the mustangs won it all.

I know the tigers, marshalls, and a's all played in world series, but not sure how they did.

15 and under that would be Team Kelley. 16 and under that would be Dallas Tigers. 17 and under that would be DBAT. 18 and under that would be DBAT , Dallas Tigers , and Dallas Mustangs.

Looks like alot of good team in the DFW area.

we are right in the middle of an exciting high school baseball season and you guys are talking about 15 and 16 summer teams???????

You should be out cheering on your local high school team.

There are some great races getting ready to unfold lets talk about some of those topics..

Ctiger I think there is another thread you can go on if you want to talk about High school playoffs. This about summer teams. Thats why I posted it.

In the 15-U age group all of the following teams should be good as they have several area Freshman Varsity players on their rosters:

Dallas Mustangs
Frozen Ropes Titans
McKinney Marshals
NorTex Baseball
Team Kelley

I'm sure there are plenty more as well.

I heard the same thing, I heard 1/2 went with another team and 1/2 stayed.

Team Kelley is alive and well. It's the same kids as last year +/- a couple.

Bad rumor Team Kelley still around. Probably even stronger.

I know the Dallas Mustangs have recruited more kids from Tarrant County the past couple of years than ever before.....depending on how they break up their multiple 16U teams, they should have some great talent.

I guess one of us heard wrong then one of us lied to the other.

I think, speaking from an unbiased standpoint that the 17U Dallas Tigers will definatley give DBAT a run for their money...

15U (1)team kelly.....dont know of much of other's

16U (1)dallas tigers....everyone else is behind them


17U (1)Dallas tigers----more pitching than last year better offense.....
17U (1 1/2) Dbat----strong, deep pitching.... no other teams are close....

18U depends entirely on who plays this summer...

When will these summer teams post their rosters on their websites? It looks like they still have '06 rosters online.....

No DBAT will be the heavy favorite.

By no means do I have any dis-respect for your team, you guys have a tremendous pitching staff and defense capable of winning any tournament at any venue... "I feel" that the Tigers while not as deep in pitching as you guys has an offense will carry them further, especially in woodbat tourneys.

I will refrain from comment on the Blackhawks

Sure wish DBAT 16 and Tigers could have played last year. Being a DBAT parent in 2006 I sure would have liked our chances.

I don't know who has the best 16u team, but I know who has the best 16u coach... Mustangs.

This is the last I'll say about the 17U DBAT vs. 17U Tigers. Whenever these teams play eachother, and both teams play to their ability, the game will come down to the last inning. If one team is up on the other, both teams have enough offense to get themselves back in the ball game in a heart-beat. As a pitcher, I know some of the DBAT hitters pretty well from over the years, and I'm still trying to find one I'd "want" to face. All I must say is if/when we play this year, I hope we have more than 10 people on our team!

You need to give out more scholarships.

Can't speak to the 17yo Tiger team, but I do know that the 17yo DBat team is stacked.

Don't know who the other coaches are but I'm sure they've got their good points, but as for Jack Sharp....he is the greatest!

John -- I am not entering this debate....yet. The Dallas Tigers website includes a 2008 roster with 10 players, at least 2 of them will not be playing for the team this summer. So, you're assessment of the superiority of their offense is based on 8 players -- or do you have inside scoop?

Likewise the DBAT 17 roster has not been posted. Maybe both teams have a few surprises up their sleeves.

I wish we could have played each other 6-7 times last year like the old days...could have sized everybody up.... but then again these kids are still growing like weeds in the spring time...

We've hooked up with the Dragons. They seem to be running a top notch program. I'll know more about the quality of the team in May.

I don't know a whole lot about these 16U teams, but I do know that one team, the Mustangs 16U, has picked up a very good player in Longview Pine Tree's David Perkins.

David is a sophomore for Pine Tree and hits in the #3 spot where he has been hitting from since last year - his freshman year. That's pretty good for a young player starting as a freshman for a very good 4A (currently #4 in the state) team.

David is a very strong kid who loves to hit - hard and often. The Mustangs are very lucky to get him. I was hoping the Tigers would get him. Gustavson is very good about finding players no matter where he has to look to get them.
