I would guess Coppell, SL Carroll, Rockwall-Heath both FM schools and maybe Lake Highlands.

Not sure what to think about the Plano schools.

The new district marrying the FM & Plano schools should be fairly interesting in the next few years.

I don't follow the comment. Are you saying Heath was mentioned because it's someone's school, but they won't really be good? If you think that, I'll take some of that action...how much are we betting?

Yes...Heath was mentioned because it's someone's team!Heath will be good again this year! Good team's have a big enough target on their back...they don't need parents making it bigger!!!!
I expect Nolan and Liberty to be the teams to beat and both be very strong in 5a. Liberty has 2 D1 signees on the mound so they should be tough to beat. In 4a, I'm sure FW Christian will be strong again and Faith Christian was very young last year and brings almost everyone back...I'm sure they will be good. Kiddo's in good shape...no issues, 100%. Thanks for asking.

That is funny... Didn't know about Horns1... Ok so since he's not here...

Plano West will win state. They have at least 12 D1 prospects and they can only beat themselves.

How's that???

Or they don't over run the base path and knock down their coach. Just kidding.......come-on!

FW Southwest Christian recieved 4 new transfer students including 2 D1 committed pitchers. Also has a highly recruited pitcher committed to Weatherford College. All of this plus a solid group of juniors and seniors should make them a competitive team in TAAPS

Yeah, you could wait for the first scrimmages or games but how much fun is that?

All the good HS teams had heavy losses but they all have plenty of talent on the way.....how's that!

The Big Hurt,

Don't let these guys keep you from wanting to actually talk about High School Baseball. Most of this site has been taken over by the 18000 posts on Select Team tryouts and the 25000 bumps that follow.

Please continue talking HS baseball.

I agree with you Big Hurt. All he's looking for is a discussion around early season predictions..that's all. We're in the realigned 10-4A district this year with (what may be) a young team. Should be fun!
Here's .02 from someone who coached a fall school team. I will leave my school out of it, and I understand _full well_ that there are a number of players who do not play in the fall school season for whatever reason. Point being... not all the fall teams are at/near 100%.

We played Top of Texas this fall and I was impressed with Sacshe and Hebron. Sacshe has some kids who can toss it up there pretty well, with good command, and Hebron was very solid up and down the order. I will be interested to see how they do in the spring.

T.B.H. - This smack-down happens every year. We need to make up an award for it.

Pretty soon (I'm predicting mid-January or so), some poor new guy is going to make the mistake of wanting to bring up this year's Freshmen. Then, we're all going have to step away from the industrious T-ball jokes and Glove-lacing posts so that we can make the Newb feel humiliated for totally wasting our time. Then we'll end up talking about the 2014's anyway.

Off to go bump a tryout now...

Or better yet, someone will have to ask "Which incoming FROSH will make an impact on varsity this year?"

And the vicious circle starts again

Hey guys, just curious as to what freshmen you think will make an impact on their varsity teams in 2011. I have "heard" there are quite a few freshmen who will be starting on Varsity. Especially at HP, Coppell, FM, and Heath. I heard HP has two "frosh" who are throwing mid-90's. I'm just saying. I also think most of those will be starting this fall on Friday nights as Sophomores. Well that's what their parents are saying anyway. Hornsr1 told me that Plano West has about 15 freshmen capable of playing varsity and that the school has actually petitioned UIL to field two complete varsity teams in the spring. That's what I'm hearing...

CXM,

I agee with you about Burleson and Arlington. Saw Burleson in tourney play last year and was very impressed. Had some kids with power bats and good arms.

Arlington will be good this year imo...C/P is a beast along with other talented SR starting pitcher. Problem is the district became much tougher when adding Paschall and Weatherford. Will be a dogfight to pick up that 4th and final playoff spot.
Im not saying they are the best but I want everyone look out for the HIllcrest Panthers this year. They will easily go undefeated in their district(probably the worst in state), and I think they could give the winner of the 2nd place 9-4a and third place 10-4a a good series and possibly win the series.

They are returning their 5 best pitchers(3 seniors, a junior and a sophomore) and they are lost only two offensive players who will be replaced by up and coming talent.

I know they are DISD and DISD is traditionally terrible but all I am saying is watch out. Yes this is a biased opinion since I am related to a player but I wanna be the first person to get on the bandwagon for this run.

What does this mean?

Absolutely nothing!

Yes nothing! I've seen boys that were studs 12-14 but become avg in HS, and I've seen the opposite where avg players at 12-14 grow into their skills and become greater than their counterparts. My last team was a major select team all boys made their respectable HS teams as freshman, 2 made varsity, 1 JV the rest 9th grade teams, all at high profile HS. It doesn't guarantee they will continue to succeed at this level. I wish them all the best and if they need to talk or discuss anything they have my phone number.....
