Excuse the horn-tooting, but 2016 finally got one to fly out over the fence for first HR since 8 yo coach-pitch in yesterday's 4A quarter final playoff game.

Of course, I don't catch it on video.  Worse, in the excitement, I didn't even think about tracking down the ball to save for him (until the drive home). Wasn't in the running for Dad Of The Year anyway.

I'm sure someone found the ball and turned it in.  Had a teammate of my 10yo hit one out the other day and a group of kids went to find the ball.  I told my wife they were looking in the wrong place just when one of them "found" it.  My wife looked at me and said she was certain that the ball they found was the one just hit out.  Upon inspection, it looked like a baseball with a white leather cover and red stitching - must have been the one after all (or a close enough approximation - especially after the coaches authenticated it with their signatures).

Congrats to him!  Always great to do huge things your senior year!  I'm so happy for him.

As for you....if he wanted the ball he would have gotten the ball, don't beat yourself up!
