kirk -- you have nothing to answer to regarding the performance of summer teams, other than the one you manage perhaps -- and even there, you're not in the batter's box or on the mound, are you? Smile

T2StepUp is a wonderfully positive contributor here -- seems he has axi to grind. Cool

DTiger -- to simply (in an effort to help with your confusion), DBAT/Lowry went 6-0 to win the tournament. Very good showings for the Tigers teams, at least one BH team, and teams from SA and Wichita. It was our first experience at the MAC. The field can be a little quirky, but the boys enjoyed the experience. Other than some confusion with the umps and the tournament rules, the event was well-run and had several very good teams. In addition, there were college scouts at nearly every game.

A good time was had by all.
No axi to grind here. Just real familiar with the way things operate at the 18 level. The draft always make an impact on their 18yr level which is their excuse every year.

Knowing their coaches for several years. They have had many early mornings
strategy breakfast. That was a fun joke for GM and the boys.

Trying to fiqure out a 18's mind is the key to success at that level.
Way to many things going on in them heads besides baseball to worry about.
Had this same conversation the other night with a group of boys that know they will be leaving to play ball next September. They all said they would like to have one summer where they didn't have to a baseball player every night. Most of these kids have played select ball since they were 10.
I think I understand where their coming from.

With that being said. We are heading into a 3 week schedule of ball every night. Hope everybody shows up. Good luck D***17. You will find out just how good you are the next 2 weeks.
Ok Time2StepUp, I'm fine with your comments (not that I have to approve) -- and I agree that there are many distractions, especially during the 18 summer. I am not claiming that my son's team is better than any other team. You're right - the next 3 weeks will be revealing. And, I'm never invited to breakfast. Big Grin

Concerning PantherSon's win this weekend -- it was simply a matter of being the POR when the winning run scored. I think he threw 7 pitches in the top of the 7th, his 1st inning of relief. Pitching decisions aren't always fair, eh? Matt Lackie, Mark Roberson, and Austin Busse all contributed to the win from the mound and there were a number of timely hits. Miles Hamblin and Jordan Swagerty both did a nice job for the Tigers.

The only thing I'm quitting is I am quitting going to the Mac.....the dang chiggers ate me up!!!

KD:

Thanks for clearing this chigger thing up. I thought it was just me and my family, and that I was going to have to fumigate our house! Whew! That's a relief! Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to scratching.

Clear fingernail polish.....it works wonders.

Tommy is the one that needs to fumigate.
