I've got to go with Posey slightly over Heyward due to difficulty of the catcher's position over outfield and the amount of responsibility Posey has assumed batting cleanup for a playoff team that began their climb after he joined the team. His offensive production was great with more power than some people thought he would have at this time. Both are barring injury future stars of the first rank.
I feel when we look back from five or six years down the road we will realize the 2010 NL crop of rookies was one of the better years for quality and quantity. Heyward, Posey and Stanton have the type talents that could be Hall of Fame stuff while Alvarez will be a big run producer if he continues hitting like he did in the second half. I'm also high on Starlin Castro who is somewhat raw as a fielder but was better offensively than I thought he would be.
Bear,

Hondo, or Frank Howard for those that don't know his nickname had a legendary half season for the 2A Victoria TX team where I grew up, hitting 27HRs and batting .363. I was only about five years old that season but they still talk about places where his HR balls landed. My mom and dad often took me to those games although specific events are lost in my childhood memory.
Here's the question Shep asked on the PG board before the messageboard vanished recently (Shep is the scout who found POSEY as an 8th grader and recommended him to Jerry Ford at PG):

Is it too late to go the distance for "Just another player in Shep's Pocket Full of Poseys"?

Go the distance and ease his pain. You might get the full measure of his blessings, if you do.

Black and the Padres are waiting in the wings.
I still say this is Bochey's year though, if Posey does the right thing. He won't though, I know. Shep served his purpose; out of sight, out of mind. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Karma is a _ _ _ _ _!

Black is still young and tempermental. Bud needs to mature a little bit and not act like "one of the guys" if he wants to win the NL West League Title. He needs to manage and not act like a player.

Interesting enough, this is going to be a pennant race ending to remember, including the wildcard-LOL

Agree TR about Mays, and think that Posey should be ROY over Heyward. Posey is in every play of every game where Heyward is great but on a good day he may be hit to 5 or 6 times. Posey has also carried the no. 4 spot most of the season and as of today is hitting .307 where Heyward is hitting something like .279. Posey also has caused other teams not to try and steal as much because of his quick accurate release.
Here's an interesting tid-bit for you good people to chomp on:

Bruce Bochey's brother Joe Bochey was the scout who recommended, drafted, and signed Latos here in FL a few years back! Joe Bochey's great sign for S.D. Latos will be pitching against the S.F. manager Bruce Bochey's team for all the marbles today! Any way you look at it, the Bochey's will win!

Today's the Day when hearts will be broken on one team and spirits will be lifted up on the other.

In the end, I believe all of those directly involved will completely understand why it had to be this way at the very last minute at the finish line.

You know that is pretty cool, I didn't realize that. Met and spoke with Joe Bochey a few times in HS. He was one of those scouts who sat himself in the stands and no one knew he was scouting a player. When he finally introduced himself I was surprised, he didn't sit and chit chat with the other scouts at games. The night before the 2004 draft he called us specifically, to let us know he heard son announced that he preferred going to CU, and to let us know what a fine young man son was and enjoyed watching him that spring.
