The only way to "erase" a season of competition is by hardship waiver. Getting a waiver requires substantial documentation of a incapacitating injury or illness that occurred part way through the season, or in some instances (family bankruptcy, etc.) of withdrawal from school.
Probably more than half of collegiate baseball players have consumed at least one season of competition while playing very little. Of course it is frustrating, but I don't think there is any possibility of waiver in your situation.
Nor should there be any possibility of any wavier for the player in the OP....he played in almost 20% of the teams games....and has no declarable hardship...
