He shared the coach's response with adult at school who then forwarded it to a long-time successful HS coach friend who then shared it with a couple of other coaches. One of them put together a response which then found its way to the media. Went viral after that obviously.

Watcha wanna bet his recruiting picked up a notch, though? Bell is a strong bat who would have been a major pick up for any NAIA school.

No doubt it has picked up. Agree he is a great pick up for any NAIA school!

Here’s how Dan Shaugnessy of the Boston Globe reported this issue in his notes section. He  made it appear like a ridiculous PC move.

A Texas Wesleyan baseball coach was fired after penning a letter to a high school player from Colorado, explaining, “we are not recruiting players from Colorado. In the past, players have had trouble passing our drug test.’’
