College vs Pro

I just saw this, I would imagine anything is possible, but most likely those players weren't offered more $$ dollars to head to college, just not enough from MLB to turn pro.

Yes, its very common. However, pro baseball gives 4 year scholarships and college baseball gives 1 year. They have to be renewed each year in college. Plus they dont give the player a money bonus nor do they pay him a salary and take care of his health benefits or his vison plan or his dental plan.

And the most like have 3 to a room on road trips.

According to Scott Boras, only 6% of his clients take advantage of thier college benefits from pro baseball. So the statistics bear out, that if you don't go to college, you probably never will.

1st of all Boris represents the cream of the crop, "so to speak". So % are better for those guys to make it to big leagues. Min Salary is over 375 a year. After a few years that becomes a million. DO you really need college?

2nd of all. Its a matter of choice. If an ex player does not take adavantage of a FREE 4 year scholarship why is it pro baseball fault? SHAME ON THAT PLAYER.

3rd thing. Have you ever done statistics on baseball players who started to college and didnt finish and who didn't get a chance to sign?

If we are going to "bear out the Statistics" then lets bear it all and be fair about it!

I agree with swingbuilder, you cannot use Boras' clients as a measure.
