I was at the home page today and noticed the number of Guests, compared to the Members.

I just want all you guests to know we do not bite, and would love for you to become part of the many conversations.

I used to lurk as well. I got so much more out of it once I joined.

Thanks I look forward to talking to you.

Former long time lurker here.  Now, they can't get rid of me.

The many fundamental questions, answers, and private dialogs that I had with other more experienced HSBBWeb posters while my son was being recruited were absolutely essential to getting started down the path my son wanted to go.  HSBBWeb became a way to triangulate information coming from his Travel Coach, and many, many  other sources.

But I will say that most of us who have been here a while are associated by our username on here but people know who we are because of our posts.  I was doing a search of my son's name and baseball the other day and one of the top responses was my post on here of him committing to UT.  So unless you are going to stay real anonymous it does not matter.

I was a lurker and joined a couple weeks ago. Already had a question that was bothering me answered. I had been using the Google machine for weeks trying to find a clear answer and finally found it here.

My son is a 2023 catcher, RHP, and unfortunately MIF. He is wicked smaht and was able to use that and his baseball abilities to get into a really good prep school that we would normally not be able to afford.

IMO it's all about how you use this site and joining in.  The key point is not to take anything said here personally.  There will be disagreements, things saying you are totally off base, accolades etc and if you take them as helping  make YOUR decision after all considerations, then well worth it.  I love it when opinions are different than mine because it gives me a viewpoint I may not have considered.  People here are attempting to help others in their journey. we really get nothing out of it except knowing we have helped someone in achieving their dream.

Alright, I took the bait and joined.  I'm the proud dad to a 2023, hoping to continue to enjoy the ride.

I got reamed through the rough on a post one time.  It was about punishing a child, baseball, etc.  I picked myself up, but I got really smacked.   'Baseball' has nothing on 'parenting' when it comes to different opinions!  There is too much good on hsbaseballweb  to dismiss the whole site. If you don't like something you read, just scroll on.

But people can't, they just can't. I posted about Luke Heimlich going to the Mexico league and was told in no short order we can't talk about that here. Somebody post that their 10 yr old hit 670 in a tournament and may have talent and he's attacked as "that" parent. We should be able to have a conversation about Luke or "that" dad's kid but we can't because people get emotionally committed to their point of view and feel their post count entitles them. Don't you agree adbono? No, I guess you wouldn't.

I think people got tired of the Luke Heimlich conversation. But posters have the option to discontinue to comment.

Just joined, have learned so much while lurking over the past year or so. Recently my 2021 committed and it was a lot less stressful than I would’ve thought initially due to what I had learned on here. Will continue to learn, hopefully help others from his experience like I was helped, and I still have a 2024 that hopefully will follow in his footsteps in a few years. Thanks to everyone for the knowledge and agree with the common theme of......enjoy the ride.

Knowledge is money.  No where is that more apparent than in college baseball recruiting.  As a lurker, this is the place for some knowledge, but the real knowledge gold mine is with our experienced posters and their detailed experiences that some may share with you.

10+ years ago, I was a lurker and I would not have known the right questions to ask or understood the answers I received if I had not developed a personal relationship with a couple of the HSBBWeb veteran posters at the time.  Two of them took me under their wing and would Private Message (PM) me regularly, as my son's situation was somewhat unique.   Through their advice, I saved myself a lot of time, effort and significant money by focusing on what mattered most for my son college selection & recruitment.   These folks were willing to help, and I couldn't have done it without them.   I've done my best to pay it forward to honor them.  I strongly encourage you to join us as a member.

Here is our lurker to member signing bonus.   Nothing like cold, hard, Monopoly cash as incentive!

Good luck!

I have been a lurker here for a couple of years. As a dad to twin, now 15 year old boys, I have utilized this site to find answers to dozens of questions concerning the game. It has been so helpful! I have gained so much perspective in how players progress throughout the nation and what it takes to make it to the next level. It is a great place to visit and read about the journey. Thank you to all that have contributed.
