when I started this thread I had no idea that every little word would be disected and turned into an
argument for or against something or somebody.

So if I say, "the big difference between the Rangers and other Championship teams is their ability to consistantly win" then, in your view, I'm calling the Rangers a Championship team? To me, I'm just labeling the other teams, maybe it's just where the Rangers "want to be" and are "working" toward.

I wasn't impressed by EC, though the Dragon's did play up to their potential. The Dragons are still finding their stride, up one game, down the next.

I thought the Astros were a pretty good team, but the Dragons simply outhit them - Caleb Spangler was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple in that game. Every starter had at least one hit in that game, and most had two. Kudos to recent Plano grad Nick Thomas - McLennan signee - who pitched a great game against the Astros to pick up his second win in the tournament. Nick has kind of been under the radar, but he's popping an outstanding fastball and learning to compete.

As for Baker, this was the first weekend I've had the opportunity to see the team play and Alex is a definite plus.

how did the 16U Dragons do?

Maybe someone can give the exact results, but I know the pool of teams was small and they went 3 - 2, 18U went 2 - 3.

18U lost to a couple of "big" teams, mostly, if not all, 2007 grads (Miami Powerhouse & Orlando Scorpions). Played well, just not as deep (or as BIG) and one team when they were as flat as they could be.

They ended up going 3-2 got the #3 seed which kept them from going to the finals. The two losses were to the #1 and #2 seeded teams.

I can't believe the dragons lost after all of the wonderful things I was hearing. Did they have all their players?

I guess it all depends on which team you are talking about.
The 18s were done in 2. Just were not there mentally.
The 15s won 1 then lost next 2.
The 16s are still playing. And doing quite well.

i dont guess you would be there mentally if your coach quit - or thats what i beleive was stated earlier

Doesn't matter if your team was there mentally or not - that is a whole different ballgame in AABC... and you guys were at the site where there was really only two "elite" teams....

And I believe that if our team had played up to their ability, then the story would be different.
But isn't that the case in every Loss
And as far as telling our coach Hi, since I do not know you that would be impossible...
