Everyone is proud of their kids, proud of their team. Let's wish the dragons success and as they grow in maturity as an organization. It appears they will be one of the teams that will have a great reputation. Just really dont need weekly reports on who did what.

Good luck to everyone this summer!
when I started this thread I had no idea that every little word would be disected and turned into an
argument for or against something or somebody.

For instance Cutter1 had to specifically add a disclaimer to this post:

but Cutter1 you did misspell favoratism...
(disclaimer-just pointing this out in fun - I am not intentionally trying to insult anyone)
Just for the record Obrady...there was mention of being elite as cobra reminded us all..

"Have to disagree with you there P1.

ranger said "the big difference in the Dallas Dragons and the
other "elite" teams is that the Dragons work with and develop their talent. It is not just a " show up and play " team.

Very clearly putting your Dragons on the "elite" stage!"

So if I say, "the big difference between the Rangers and other Championship teams is their ability to consistantly win" then, in your view, I'm calling the Rangers a Championship team? To me, I'm just labeling the other teams, maybe it's just where the Rangers "want to be" and are "working" toward.

Where's and English grammer teacher when you need one!?

I'll have to say ......

I wasn't impressed by EC, though the Dragon's did play up to their potential. The Dragons are still finding their stride, up one game, down the next.

How is Alex Baker doing for the Dragon's?

I thought the Astros were a pretty good team, but the Dragons simply outhit them - Caleb Spangler was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple in that game. Every starter had at least one hit in that game, and most had two. Kudos to recent Plano grad Nick Thomas - McLennan signee - who pitched a great game against the Astros to pick up his second win in the tournament. Nick has kind of been under the radar, but he's popping an outstanding fastball and learning to compete.

As for Baker, this was the first weekend I've had the opportunity to see the team play and Alex is a definite plus.
Maybe someone can give the exact results, but I know the pool of teams was small and they went 3 - 2, 18U went 2 - 3.

18U lost to a couple of "big" teams, mostly, if not all, 2007 grads (Miami Powerhouse & Orlando Scorpions). Played well, just not as deep (or as BIG) and one team when they were as flat as they could be.

If you re-read my post, I was asking how they did in the Connie Mack State tourney... that should tell you who I am talking about...

Doesn't matter if your team was there mentally or not - that is a whole different ballgame in AABC... and you guys were at the site where there was really only two "elite" teams....

Tell your coach I said hi....

Sorry Diablo I missed your question I was answering
agsnhere's question.
And I believe that if our team had played up to their ability, then the story would be different.
But isn't that the case in every Loss Big Grin
And as far as telling our coach Hi, since I do not know you that would be impossible...
