If DBAT beats the Bombers, the Wildcats will take on the Firebirds -- a result of natural pairings. If the Bombers win, then Trombly will have played the 3 remaining teams, so the Thursday games should be set by drawing times. The Bombers and DBAT have not had byes -- key if there are 3 teams with one loss going into Round 6. Gotta LOVE the AABC bracket rules! Smile

All this assuming that the bracket is correct on cmws.org!

For those of you that were listening....Rusty Hill (Wildcats) called me about 15 minutes after the game and I gave him a hard time for not mentioning DBAT among the final "outstanding" teams in their way during the post-game interview (all in fun). He said he realized it as soon as he'd said it. Smile

Rusty also said that people there can't believe that two teams are in the final five from the same city much less the same league. Said it surprises them even more when he tells them neither team finished in the top two of that league. Our Dallas boys are doing a great job representing our baseball community and I'm very proud of everyone involved with both teams.
Best of luck tonight to DBAT and tomorrow to Wildcats!

Wildcats played the best game of their season today with the help from Brent Powers and Fielding Pittman. Throw in Kel Presley starting it off with a 400ft. BOMB! Brent threw 63 pitches to send home South Troy who eliminated Midland Redskins last nite. Brent had mono early in the season and is back healthy.....and it showed today. Fielding...you can call him our team captain and put on a display today equal to none! Fielding will be attending Howard in Big Spring this fall.

This is a great experience with Dbat and Kats parents supporting one another. Dbat parents where in full force today helping the Kats pull through. Wildcats will be there to support Dbats.

Now its time to go enjoy a little tailgaiting before the next show at 5:15.
Ditiger I have not experienced it but I have heard from several coaches that the summer after the senior year could potentially be a challenge for any organization. Most players have signed or might get drafted. But we will keep building our success this summer and hopefully challenge for Farmington again next summer. Smile

I don't like umpiring your games because your pitchers work too slow for me. Smile

GAH your telling me... I can't remember who started that game, but I remember the kid who came in relief, took forever and couldn't throw a strike--- no dissing, simply stating the facts. Of course, I'm sure you weren't giving him any corners. Wink

I know what you mean about the signings, your 18U team this year would've been a pro team basically if it hadn't been for signings.

Clemente21 -- I think your previous post represents a refreshing approach to summer baseball. I do not have a problem with teams that choose to follow a different strategy, which might include a few more victories, but I agree that these kids should be having FUN while developing in the summer. Some have "criticized" (for lack of a better word) the Wildcats for appearing to be less competitive since claiming their Farmington birth...and some wonder if they will be able to turn it back on in a few weeks --- but no one questions their strength ---> the TEAM concept.

I'm sure the guys will have great fun in NM, regardless of the outcome.
