Okay, let's see the whole situation from the audience now. Yes, The Coppell v Flower Mound baseball game the other night was won by the Jaguars. The endin result is Coppell being booted from the Texas Baseball Playoffs. Unfortunately, the Jaguars Are now being falsely accused after a great accOmplishment and the criticism is taking away from the win.
Durin the game, the Coppell student section chanted for there team, however there chants were aimed solely at the deprication of the Flower Mound baseball players. Tyler Pollok approached the plate an recieved such names as "Fatass" and "try Weight Watchers". These comments continued through out the game directed at almost every player. The Coppell section had no regard for anything others than cheering forth gain attention for themselves. On the flip side, the Flower Mound section cheered simple, old-school chants. "let's go jaguars" was the most common of all chants. The "ball four!" chant is potentially their most intense chant. The aim is for the pitcher to be distracted, unlike the Coppell approach to maliciously verbalize players to make them angry. So in whole, Coppell claims that Flower Mound is not classy or respectful all he while their own students make obscene remarks at the players. You decide who was being actual cheerleaders and fans, to me the evidence supplies the result of the non-classy fans.
Now, to move on to the game itself. The whole game was a constant battle for the Jaguars to remain ahead of the Cowboys. A rain delay stopped the game shortly and during this time, the Coppell student section moved spots to where the Jaguar fans were sitting before they were told to go to their cars for the duration o the delay. After the delay, the Coppell students refused to leave until their OWN assistant principles forced them to, showing no respect for the Flower Mound AP. the game continued and concluded the series with the Jaguars sweeping the Cowboys in two games. A member of the Cowboys dropped to all fours after the game ended and refused to get up and shake the hands of the Flower Mound team. This one moment is a lack of classic baseball etiquette. No matter the outcome of the game even in the severity of the stakes, all members of both teams line up to shake hands. This one member refuse to stand up even though his whole team was already shaking hands, this individual did not stand up. This act is selfish and shows that even though his team lost and shook hands, that his burden IN THE SAME LOSS was heavier than all the other players'. Another member of the team was on-deck and he too dropped to his knees, but he however stood up to shake the Jaguars' hands. So for the Coppell fans to hone in on the next conflict shows they have no actual clue of baseball etiquette. The hand ritual were almost complete when the crying player sprung to his legs ready to fight after a comment about shaking hands. Then, a Jaguar player did the six-shooter salute to the fans and continued on over to the dug-out. This salute is much like the claw/antlers for the Texas Rangers, it is a simple congratulations. There was no obscene finger gesture made the entire time. Once again, I ask what is the fault, a selfish act by a Coppell player, or a misunderstood post-game salute.
So, if you take anything away from this, take this. FORGET YOUR BIAS, forget that Flower Mound won and Coppell lost, the evidence is clear that Coppell showed blatant disrespect for the players and the game of baseball. Why even post this if you don't know all the details. This post itself is one team being upset over a loss and instantly jumping to the conclusion that the other is at fault. Watch the online broadcast if your memory is some how fuzzy, you will see the same thing I'm telling you. Listen to the announcers praise the student section at Flower Mound, and listen to the disrespectful comments by Coppell. It is simple, this forum should now be over. Boom.
