If the pitching is what it was last year, there can be no other conclusion. Roger Clemons coming in late to a contender could upset the apple cart, but I doubt it.
CC Sabathia had the same exact injury last spring as last night. He is one of the young guns signed to a long term contract and I am very concerned the young man is not getting himself into proper physical condition. He has loads of talent but it can be hard to see when he looks like he should lose at least 50 lbs.
Jim Thome looked a bit over weight to me as well with a slight double chin going but it doesn't matter if he stays healthy and hits his patented 450 ft. plus bombs.

Thome is about 10 pounds overweight, it seems. He, however, is 37-38 years old!

The athletes nowadays endorse all sorts of products...I shouldn't talk, but CC would have no trouble sporting the full Goodyear logo on his jersey if you know what I mean!

It is becoming painfully apparent or at least questionable as to whether or not he is fulfilling his obligation to the Cubs.

I'm a bit concerned for Maddox, however. He topped out at 84 yesterday and he's now at 84-77. I know he's still a terrific pitcher, but when they realize he can't even touch 87-88 anymore, the teams should do well against him.

I remember Griffey hitting a homer in about 9 straight games back when he was with the M's.
My memory on this may not be exact, but I do remember Griffey making a run at the record and falling short. Isn't it Mattingly who holds the record?
