You are Correct. A one game series FM does not stand a chance. Well, I will give them a slight chance...it could rain the entire week and FM may win the coin toss to advance but that is the only way.

FM needs to get by Duncanville though.....I hope FM wins that game. I look forward meeting some of you bgrroll

I heard from one of the FM players that the Duncanville coach wanted a one game playoff while the FM coach wanted a best of 3 playoff. Since the two coaches could not agree on the format, a coin toss won by Duncanville decided the format.
Should be a good game. There is one intangible that you cannot rule out here, Coach Rombach. Personally, I think he is one of, if not the best, high school coach in the DFW area. I have a ton of respect for the man. Recently he has not had the talent base that was once there, but year in and year out they are fundamentally sound. They usually don't beat themselves.

Train - glad to hear you are feeling better...yes, I missed your "Hot Sports Opinions" ... it was getting pretty boring around here with all the politically correct rhetoric. Smile

H&U FM should be happy he is eligible.

I do not agree with you about "pretty much a BS action from the Umpire" anytime a kid gets tossed from an umpire its not the umps fault.

I was not there but of course the story continues to grow about how he was tossed. Next I will read he threw a bat at the ump!! Clear it up and let us know what happened if you don't mind.

Train,
We have been told that, yes he is eligible. Pretty much a BS action from the Umpire IMO, considering the circumstances, timing, inconsistant strike zone, game intensity, and everything else that went on.

I was at that game and it was the first base umpire that made the call. For all the games I have watched around the Metro and N Texas I can honestly say the umpires were only right 50% of the time Smile The Chief Umpire did nothing. He was avoiding eye contact with the player!

Can you enlighten us?

Does Coppell High School offer any AP English courses?? The first base umpire did not like the player's demaenor after being called out. Did you not consult with your sub-varsity, injured with limited playing time, friend that plays at FM? Smile

Train,
I say let the story grow. That's how legends are made!

No bat throwing involved. In fact, I didn't even know it happened until midway thru the last half of the inning. Let's just say he questioned the strike zone.

Kind of odd that the first base umpire would make an ejection call in this case as he wasn't involved or anywhere near the incident. It should have been the homeplate umpire making that decision if there was a reason for one to be made IMO.

You are correct sir...really two coin tosses....format and venue.
Now you're beginning to see the big picture -- who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Smile The PE stats finally made it to the newspaper --- I'd gladly trade them for a series this weekend.

Hope it goes well for your guys. Duncanville is a solid group. Their #1 has had a nice season and Joe L. adds an additional dimension to their team.

With Duncanville in mind -- Congratulations to Brandon Fahey, who was promoted to the Orioles big club this week, filling in for the injured Tajada (did I speel that right?). Smile Brandon played at Duncanville and UT and is the son of former major leaguer Bill Fahey. Brandon's brother coaches the Duncanville freshmen. <-- good people

Wow, take the morning off to do some "cleaning" and I miss out on all the fun Big Grin

First off: A talkshow with only 3 people would work because KD is always letting everyone know how much I talk, if you have ever gotten one of my PM's/emails you know I can go on and on and on.......

Incident at game: First I heard of it was on this board....I missed it totally..........so I can't give you any insight on that.....I miss all the fun at the game......DARN.....too much talking again I imagine.

FM vs Duncanville Game(s): I couldn't hardly figure out the 3way tie in our district let alone this 1 game/3game/your house/my house situation. Why can't the UIL just take this all away as it is mess each year do we play 1 do we play 3, strategy.....and if you play 1 and lose then you have everyone MAD at you.................it is just a catch 22 and personally I think there shouldn't be a choice, UIL should just say everyone plays 1 game or 3 and take this out of the equation........

Train: will say it has been a bit dull around here without you, sorry it was an illness (aCHOO, aChoo) that kept you away....hope you are feeling better.......and NO I am not flirting Smile I still prefer to fly than take the rails..........................

Train,
Thanks, just goes to show you that you can't believe everything you hear unless it comes from somebody as honest and unbiased as me.

Concerning next week, if we are lucky enough to get by Duncanville this week, be thinking up a friendly wager we can make for next week to keep things interesting around here.

Nothing would make me happier than for our boys to send you home with your caboose dragging behind and winning something in the meantime. It certainly would make the summer very enjoyable. Smile
