good news! My son received his acceptance letter from the Maryland school! He will let the coach know that and we'll see where we go from there.

Thanks! Matt sent an email to the coach yesterday, and he replied today. His prompt and encouraging response shows me that he is geniunely interested and wants him on the team.
Although we visited, he may do an overnight there, but with finals coming up soon, that probably wouldn't happen until Spring semester. We'd like to get things wrapped up by then, but I guess it will take some time to figure out how much, if any, merit or financial aid he can get. Unfortunately, the reality is that money is a factor.
It may come down to whether he wants to be an hour away, or four hours away. It doesn't really matter to me, except we'd get to see him play more if here were still in NJ. Either way, its a car ride away, not a plane...
Hopefully the NJ school gives its response soon. They definitely haven't been as quick to respond as the MD school..
