Rangers go for little lefty
The Rangers bypassed Kyle Drabek, who was still available at No. 12, and went for Alabama high school lefty Kasey Kiker. Kiker is listed as being 5-11, but may be slightly smaller than that. He worked out for Rangers officials last week in Arlington. He fits the profile for success in Arlington. He's a lefty who can get ground ball outs. But there will be questions about his size.

Drabek ended up going 19 to Philadelphia. The Rangers' plans to take Tim Lincecum apparently got scuttled when San Francisco took him with the 10th pick.

From HP to LA
Highland Park pitcher Clayton Kershaw is a Dodger. Cincinnati took Drew Stubbs No. 9. .... Surprised at Stubbs because he's a strikeout machine and Reds already have a couple of those in Austin Kearns and Adam Dunn.... But you know what they say, you can never have too many strikeout machines.
Congrats to all the local webster's son's that have been drafted thus far! Exciting day for these young men, their families and their coaches (select/HS/instructors)........
Years of dedication and hardwork has paid off

It was very nice to see a pitcher under 6 foot, go early.........gives some hope to those that thought they couldn't do it if they weren't 6ft.......
