Lots of Texas kids are going to be sitting by the computer and the phone today wondering when they will be going in the draft, if at all.

Kershaw was #7 pick by the Dodgers.
Drabek went 18.
Rangers go for little lefty
The Rangers bypassed Kyle Drabek, who was still available at No. 12, and went for Alabama high school lefty Kasey Kiker. Kiker is listed as being 5-11, but may be slightly smaller than that. He worked out for Rangers officials last week in Arlington. He fits the profile for success in Arlington. He's a lefty who can get ground ball outs. But there will be questions about his size.
Drabek ended up going 19 to Philadelphia. The Rangers' plans to take Tim Lincecum apparently got scuttled when San Francisco took him with the 10th pick.

The RISD relocation package fell through? I'm not surprised after the budget was blown on OP's kid!
The Kid was overpriced at that time ~ we had spent wise money on others to be named later. OP's son was way after the fact of the Place kid. Happy right now for all of them and as far as an agent goes....I Have my eye on a catcher from McKinney North.
