I'm always tempted to buy one of those training DVDs, but I'm not sure if its a waste of money or it is actually helpful. I'm a catcher- does anyone know a video that will improve my game?

Yeah I like the harold reynolds and Ripken tapes.
The SPARQ DVD endorsed by Jimmy Rollins is nice, in my opinion. You might need to have some of the SPARQ equipment to get everything you can out of it. But most of the SPARQ stuff is just med balls, agility hurdles, speed ladders, that kind of stuff so I am sure you can find an improvosation.
Best training DVD I have seen is Catching Skills and Drills by Rob McDonald.
