Who will have the inside track on the Eastern Region? Who is strong in the peninsula? What does the Beach look like?

nasemond river should be preseason no.1!kellam should be the beach favorite!menchville is the pennisula favorite!

here are my BEACH DISTRICT pre season ranks
1. Kellam- Kellam is lead by the sinnen family dynasty to go along with reigning POY Mitch moynihan and one of the best defenses in the state.
2. Salem- if Salem was to be serious about having a shot , this would be their year. Stasky and Newman lead a team FILLED with seniors and alt of power in their bats.
3. Ocean Lakes-looked decent during the fall. Cooper really has to step up on the mound for them to be successful i believe.
4. Landstown- I think Landstown is alright in just about every aspect, but not great. I would like to see what their pitching does this year with Dylan Williams and Alex Blankenship as their primary starters and I think that will determine how well they fare.
5. Princess Anne- pitching is grade A for princess Anne yet again but their offense will not bring them a beach district title
6. Cox-Cox is a solid team defensively and on the mound but like Princess Anne i would love to see how they can handle the stick
7. First Colonial- FC is down this year because they relied on so many seniors last year. Chris Livers should have enough leadership to pull the patriots into the playoffs though .
8. Bayside-baysides pitching come into question with me because Long cannot pitch every game.
9. Green Run- lead by Andrew Stone I think green run will give a good push for the tournament but id give the edge to bayside and Fc just based off depth.
10. Tallwood- Without a true #1 , tallwood is going to struggle this year.

Pitching in the SE will be thin compared to the last few years. As a result I think that it opens things up quite a bit. Kellam in the Beachand and NR in the SE look to be the favorites.
GB lost a key returning player so it will be more imprtant for them to get consistent pitching because their lineup won't be as deep as anticipated if they are going to hang with NR. Conner Jones will have to with the head to head matchups.
The new bats may help level things off somewaht with fewer homers and balls that might have found gaps getting caught.

Beach update: Like last year, Kellam will have to do it without Turner Bishop. Last year he injured his right knee wrestling and this year he injured his left knee wrestling. My understanding is he is out for the baseball season. Very tough loss for both Bishop and Kellam.

ofs, I think that Lake Taylor should have the edge this year. With Justin and Taylor Erby and a quality catcher in Mike Wharton. It'll depend on how well their defense holds up. Can be a little sketchy at times.
But whoever wins the East will again get stomped in Regional play.

I'll be surprised if Lake Taylor doesn't win the Eastern District. Taylor and Justin Erby will be dominant on the mound and at the plate. Mike Warthon is phenomenal behind the plate and is getting recruited this year. They also have 2-3 new faces they are bringing in that can really play. Pitching staff is really deep and defensse is solid. My question is their offense.
I see a 3 team race between LT, Maury, and Granby. It will come down to head to head games and pitching. Warren beat Granby 3 times last year. All 3 teams have the same core players as last year. Churchland won last year but they lost alot.
This may well be Granby's year. Their boys have been together a long time plus they are senior heavy this year.
LT's 2-6 are probably as solid as could be with Costa, J. Erby, T. Erby, Wharton, Brady and Kelly. My questions is who's going to lead off?
I do hope that those who are familiar with the Eastern District keep a thread going each week during the season to update all of us.

So getting back on topic, does anybody want to take a stab at breaking down the Eastern, Southeastern and Peninsula districts the way hellosir did with the Beach?

1) Menchville (too much Senior experience and talent- even very talented juniors, some of which may not even see the field)
2) Woodside (great coaching and players that compete every game, but will miss Ritz, Mays & Burton's leadership, which is why I put them 2nd to MHS)
3) Kecoughtan (will see the loss of Cave hurt them more than most people think & depends on how well the sophomore can pitch when called on in big time games)
4) Hampton (have the ability and talent to surprise many people this year)
5) Warwick/Gloucester (toss up but I'll take GHS 5th)

i was just saying on this site! i know on hrvarsity they keep up with pennisula district!
its weird because 1 person says bethel and gloucester will be around around 8th and then this guy picks gloucester 5th!
Actually the Home team coach is suppose to call in Mr. Frankeberry of the Pilot and give the score and highlights of the game.
Don't under estimate FC, Cox and OL. Your 4, 5, 6 and 7 are out of order, but well respect your opinion!

Looks like this poster is sleeping on Gloucester. Don't underestimate that team. Gloucester is well coached and is always a very good offensive team. They've got a righty, O'Neil, that is throwing in the mid to high 80's. If he's throwing strikes it should prove to be a competitive season.

Princess Anne, Landstown, and Cox are all interchangeable to me right now, because I need to see How Cox and PA hit, ESPECIALLY princess anne; and how Landstown can pitch. I saw FC play multiple times this fall, against teams without dominating pitching, and struggled to get more than 3-4 runs across the board, while giving up quite a bit.

hellosir, wouldn't you say landstown's middle infield is a little loose this year?
Teams better not take bayside lightly, they have plenty of pitching. Eric evans, both Long boys, Joel Jenkins, Brandon (forgot last name) and the young King kid all are very good players. Landstown is going to need ferrante, Hinton and Faison to lead them. Kellam is by far best team in the beach, I don't think coach jones would tolerate anything that would bring scrutiny to his program so forget the "recruiting" bs.

You are right... Coach Lee got and Coach Lavelle gets the same scrutiny every year. Coach Jones doesn't have to recruit. Actions/ records / knowledge of the game speaks for itself.
Why would you say they have a loose infield? I thought they looked real strong in the fall?

GCA 6-0 in their scrimage yesterday against Lake Taylor.
