I know that my swing does the same thing that Bonds and Gwynn's swing does.

Please post a clip so we can see how to duplicate Bonds and Gwynns swing.
If I can figure out how to do it, I will post a video of my son. With the swing I taught him, he hit 3 balls in one game over 360' when he was 14 years old. At the time he weighed 135 pounds and was 5' 6" tall. His 1st game of High School ball (which was in a J.V. game), he hit a ball 380' against a 87 MPH fastball and he still only weighed 145 pounds. You can't do that and not have early and late batspeed at his size.

Not to get off topic, but there is a JV player in Kentucky who throws 87? That must be some kind of varsity team that doesn't need that arm.

Sorry, I didn't see this the first time around. Yes we do have one that threw 87 as a Sophomore. His name is Aaron Alvey, you may recognize the name. He pitched for Valley Sports when they won the Little League World Series. He threw a few balls at 78 miles an hour in the final game against Japan as a 12 year old. We have one at my Son's High School right now that threw 92 as a Sophomore. His name is Zack Cox. He hit 95 in Florida during Spring break this year as a Junior.

I have read that the hands are just along for the ride, and I disagree with this.

Deemax,

As I am sure you know - strong hands and strong wrists - are an essential part of the complete swing.

If given a choice - of having the perfect swing - and having either:

Weak hands and wrists
or strong hands and wrists

Which one would you choose?

And why?

The hands are not just "along for the ride" - I think that is pure nonsense - and I think anyone that has ever faced a 90 MPH fastball - or a nasty slider that fools you - would agree. IMO.
