Regarding Cory Brooks, all indications are a full recovery. He played last month of football season, including starting QB in playoff game. Guess we'll see more in a few short weeks of how he'll be on the bump, after basketball season.
As for DC, let's temper expectations for the season. Will be a very "young" team this year. I'm guessing a max of 3-4 upper classmen will contribute much, but hope I'm wrong.
Oh, by the way, if DC's recruiting for athletics, must not be very good at it.
W.A.Criswell is Watching,
You seem to be barking up the wrong tree. C Smith was welcome to play at the Rock. He opted not to because of our off-season program. I won't argue my points or his on this forum. BTW Cecil has one of the best reps around and will bring credibility to FBC. I think you're trying to bait the Doc - and it ain't gonna work.

Quite honestly Coach I would not bait a coach I hold in high regard. WA's been watching in the area a long time and had you in the top with Shepherd, Regelski, Turner, Rombach, Elliott heck good ole Ted et al.
Just seems un-legendary like to take shots on this forum at that coach.
This is just my opinion and if I were going to bait it up I would slide on down to Chandler's Landing, Coach.
Since Cecil is going to a TAPPS school, there is a TAPPS rule that states if a kid transfers or follows a coach to another school, that kid is ineligible for 1 year.
Might want to check into that. That is known as the "Mike Barber rule," a la Grace Prep.

funneldrill - After reviewing the TAPPS on-line by-laws, I believe that the transfer rule you mentioned only applies if you are transferring from one TAPPS school to another TAPPS school.
Good catch CS -- FWCDS is not a TAPPS school. In addition, WACIW indicates that no CD kids are joining CE at FB. Funny how acronyms are taking over the written language.

Still have Dolph's book and it was a better time when Bryan Adams wore thick wool uniforms.
all - 10 TEN players have been induced by First Baptist - not 2 - all with the promise of "playing time and college scholarships" by Omar (against TAPPS rules). One kid was brought by "tampering" from DC specifically to play baseball(against TAPPS rules) ALL these kids play on Omar's CURRENT Dallas Panthers team (against TAPPS rules) which, by the way, they practice on Sundays (against TAPPS rules). Just a matter of time before TAPPS is on to this...Oh, and did I mention one of the kids dad's was "given a coaching job" (against TAPPS rules)...it will be interesting!
"given a coaching job"????
Heck, Cecil is there as a volunteer. They aren't giving anyone any money to coach at FB

This is not about Cecil. How do you know that they are not being paid?

Mindless chit chat. Does anyone really care?
We ask that you take a minute to read the Message board rules and etiquette.

oldbaseballfreak,
Based on your post, I would guess that your kid started last year and is now not getting to play because of the new kids at the school.
How close am I to being right?

naw, no kids at all. Just a good ole fashioned "what's right is right" kind of guy.
This is just the way the Baptist church works.
OK, I will read the rules.
Careful FO.

OK!
Last year FB didn't even have a JV program, so if a Dad stepped up to coach a JV team, what harm is there in that?
There are conspiracies everywhere.

How do I know they are not being paid? I have a very close friend that is on the booster club at FB and has 3 of his kids there.
They have a very small athletic budget and are trying to better all of their programs.
And no, my friend doesn't have any kids playing baseball, but one on the football team and two play golf.
"This is just the way the Baptist church works."
For those of you who don't know, FO is a PK.
And if he read the rules he wouldn't know how to apply them.

oldbaseballfreak -- we have read your "objections" to this school's mode-of-operation. At this point, I suggest you take it up with TAPPS if you are so inclined --- or better yet, start with the administration at FBC.
Regardless of your personal feelings towards Omar or Cecil or others associated with the program, I think we'll avoid the opportunity for further innuendo in this thread.
