I've always liked the journeymen who work hard, have OK numbers, and understand their role on the team. These guys tend to appreciate their positions and act as leaders to the rookies. Guys like Grebek, Zaun...

John Flaherty fits the mold and has just retired. Pretty solid performer, middle round draft pick, and had the good sense to be wearing a Red Sox uni when he punched out.

You don't have to be a star to be a winner.

The Yankees have offered him a minor league coaching job.
My bet is that is where this catcher will land.
Love the "do your job, quiet guys" and he was certainly one of them.
