Follow up question after college visit with coach...

My son recently visited a college he was interested in and met with the coach. Coach has not seen him play yet. Would it be o.k. for my son to ask his summer coach to email or call the college coach and put in a good word, or should son just provide the summer coach's phone and email to the coach?

I say the latter would be better. Either way, I don't think a college coach would sign a kid sight unseen no matter what his summer coach said. Provide game schedules, showcases he'll be attending, video, ect...THEN after the college coach has done an evaluation he may want to talk to the summer coach.

never say never

my son signed unseen & played 4 yrs at Georgia Tech - based on eval of summer coach & other sources

that said, I agree that unless summer coach already has a relationship w/college coach HE shouldn't call the college -
schedule & summer coach's ph# are appropriate
